Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaIt was a bit strange, the woman in front lobby wasn’t very explanatory or efficient. She forgot to have me sign the paper for the companion dog, and she gave me a room that wasn’t the one I had chosen on Booking. I have to spoke with the manager, and at first, she tried to convince me that those were general photos when I know I always choose the room according to the photo. She told me there were no more rooms available because they were all booked. I told her to give me my money back and I would leave. When I said that, she told me she would give me a room like the one in the photo and offered me two welcome cocktails. What I don't understand is why she first tells me one thing and then another (although I appreciate her attention). Then they gave me the key to change my luggage to the new room (they never offered to have the bellboy help me). In the room transfer process, I forgot the key to the previous room with my things inside. I told the cleaning lady, who was right there and saw me come and go several times, and she said she couldn’t open the room. Wich I don’t understand if she saw me , I had to go back down to request a new key. The woman at the desk gave me the wrong key( again, another mistake ) and I lost about two hours in the whole process. My stay was only for one day, which I couldn’t enjoy much because the pool, losing time resolving these issues. I feel that they need to be more attentive and efficient. It’s a very beautiful hotel of VERY high quality, and the staff should not ruin the experience for guests. Thank you
I love the style decoration , rooms , smell , etc its wonderful

United StatesThe party on the rooftop went late into the night and I could hear the music in my room. The $15 credit is only available at the downstairs restaurant for dining in at dinner. The booking said $15 food/drink credit so that was a bit misleading.
Rooftop pool was great. Hotel was clean.

GermanyI couldn’t get a kettle to my room. I always ask for a kettle if it’s not a already in the room since I’m a big tea drinker and the fact that I couldn’t get one and when I asked at the restaurant for it or for hot water they were kinda weird about it.
I really liked that we got upgraded to a room with a nicer view and that we were able to have a bed at the rooftop terrace. The lady at the desk who welcomed us was amazing.

United KingdomThere seems to be changes and information that all staff aren’t aware of. The $15 daily credit was an issue that staff were unaware of and some saying they weren’t aware of this or how it worked. The sliding door for the toilet area in the room gets stuck and comes off the rails which is a pain.
The decor was beautiful and modern. The attention to aesthetic detail was very impressive. The staff are very responsive to queries. The food in Sungold’s really good and the rooftop’s amazing for drinks and atmosphere.

United KingdomThe roof is accessible by the public and there are only 2 lifts (no option to take the stairs!) and these can take ages to arrive for hotel stayers. I experienced two occasions at the front desk of feeling belittled by staff, like I wasn’t the type of person that should be staying in the hotel! Very rude. The rooms are small, don’t expect a big room but great views if you have a balcony
Amazing views, great roof top pool and bar. Clean

United KingdomBe prepared for Williamsburg, it is not a quiet place of a night. The area has a party vibe especially at the weekends. We knew this going into our stay and thankfully the noise wasnt all night but it was ongoing late a night. Especially if there is a party on the roof of an evening. I think the rooms could benefit with improved double glazing/insulation. The balcony doors let in quite a bit of noise.
Room was an ok size for New York, really comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Staff were really friendly and the hotel was in a great position to explore Brooklyn/Williamsburg. Lots of great places to eat and drink close by. Views from the balcony over Manhattan were amazing!

United KingdomWe used often about the roof being open to multiple members of staff and we never really got an answer. Then we tried it on the off chance one day and it was open which was frustrating as it was one of the main reasons we booked the hotel.
Room was beautifully designed and to our taste! Balcony was a great addition and worth the extra money.

IrelandInitially we were put in a room on a floor where they were doing construction/renovations There was a builder sawing and drilling on the balcony next door We asked to be moved and they graciously did so, just not sure why anyone would be allocated a room next to all that noise & building work going on Pool/rooftop wasn’t open even though it was beautiful weather
Great location, lovely welcoming staff on the desk particularly Maya Nice views of the city from our room - request a High floor when booking

AustraliaIt’s very expensive. As an Australian visiting New York (my daughter lives in a tiny apartment close to the Arlo so I couldn’t stay with her), staying in hotels is almost prohibitive. Perhaps a deal for a long stay could be offered?

United StatesThe shower was a little annoying the glass door wasn't keeping water in the shower. But other than that I love this hotel I will absolutely be back.
I loved the room, but the room that was in the description wasn't the room I got. I got my city view which I loved but the room I got was a little more basic than I wanted. The breakfast was amazing 👏🏾 🤩 I'll be coming back just for breakfast. Absolutely add it to your room it's so worth it.

ItalyThere were a couple of things I would have improved, though the state of the room was not very well maintained. I would also suggest providing even a small amount of toothpaste
My stay in NY was also special because of the stay in the neighborhood and the atmosphere at the hotel. Very comfortable and very kind staff.

CanadaThe bathroom fixtures are all super high end (waterworks) but it feels like the contractor who installed them did not pay any attention. Almost everything leaks, is installed crooked, or not tightened. The shower glass partitions don't extend far enough to keep the rest of the bathroom dry. We had to be moved to another room part way through our stay since the room above us was leaking heavily into ours through the ceiling. We weren't compensated for the interruption either. Not even an apology. We got ghosted by the hotel staff when following up.
Lovely rooms and common spaces. Great scent in the lobby. Great location, quick walk to the L or G trains. Lots to see and eat in Williamsburg.
