Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

Location was great - a block away from the beach and pier and a block the other way to Third street shopping.There is parking garage next door which we used instead of the valet service.

It is close to the Santa Monica Pier and you can walk to the pier. The cleaning employees are very friendly. But I liked it, I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again.

I love this hotel. Wonderful location. Renovated and very clean rooms and very comfortable beds. Very friendly staff. Not pet allowed. I love pets but I always think they might leave fleas. I never had a problem in my four years of visiting the hotel. A perfect and accessible place to be in Santa Monica.

AustraliaSome of the costs that they add to the room were a little questionable, for example the supply of water bottles and the use/supply of the coffee machine. We didn't ask for this, but it's supplied and you need to pay extra for it. The location is great, however you should be mindful of street noise and traffic in the morning. If you like a sleep in it might not be the best spot for you.
Location is great! So close to the main attractions of Santa Monica, the beach and the 3rd st promenade shops. Staff at the hotel were very accommodating for our needs, from check in to departure.

AustraliaThe bed was like a rock, the most uncomfortable bed I’ve slept in. The shower temperature didn’t or couldn’t regulate it was freezing cold and then scorching hot the next minute - made for showering a dangerous activity! The rooms were also not soundproof we could hear conversations from our next door neighbors and the room upstairs seemed to be having a relay race and were running back and forth for a while. The aircon unit is old and noisy as anything so we didn’t use it, thankfully they had ceiling fans & with the temperature that was plenty (so not a negative to the fan - just an FYI to the noise!

United StatesHotel us under construction so they have alot of rooms taped off with black drapes. It didn't affect our room but made things a little eerie. The water temp changes when the neighboring room turns on the water. The area is rough, lots of homeless people sleeping on side walks and trash everywhere. That isn't the fault of the hotel but important info for future travelers. Also, the ac unit had to be turned on using the breaker panel
Room was big and comfy. The location was one block from ocean and one block from shops, right in the middle. Staff was super friendly and helpful

AustraliaWe asked 4 different staff (3 at front desk and the housekeeper) to not do house keeping on our first day but got back and the room had been made up. Valet was easy but very overpriced versus the cost of close by car parks. Rooms very old they could not hold our adapters comfortably.
