This was my second stay at Chapter as i loved it the first time round. Great hostal, well priced and the staff there are great. Perfect to have a little slice of peace amongst the chaos of travel, and has a couple of bus stops within a couple minutes walk for easy access to the city. Highly recommend

The place does not really encourage socializing, in the common room/kitchen you'll most likely find some silent guys tipping something on their laptops.

Clean, modern, efficient, yet in a nice traditional wooden house. Not too far from neither the city center nor other interesting locations.

Hours of check in and checkout, the check in could start at 3pm at least or should be allowed early check in when the room is available.

The hostel was very clean, the communication with the staff is very easy, the access to the hostel and rooms where made by code, no need to use a card, what is great.

Because the kitchen wasn't too spacious, it didn't provide the "community" feeling you find in some hostels (e.g a big table where everyone can sit and eat). Thus, if you're looking for a very social time in the hostel it will be a bit harder. Again, this wasn't a deal breaker for me, just an observation :)

Chapter Francisco was a pleasant surprise. The hostel is placed in a convenient location - from here you can get nearly everywhere you'll want to go if you're just passing by San Francisco for a short stay. A major perk - the closest Whole Foods is within a 5 minute walk. The closest bus stop is also less than 5 minutes walking. The hostel is very well secured with codes for both the front door and the door for the room. The common areas were always cleaned and well maintained - plenty of restrooms on the floor, with multiple showers (never had to wait). The kitchen, although small and with no stove (not a deal breaker for me), has some room to prepare cold meals, sit and even a phone booth to take calls. The dorm room I stayed in (female only) had the best locker/storage I've seen in a hostel (so much space!). The bed was comfortable, the cabin provided privacy, it had plugs and good lightning. They also provided a towel. Overall a good stay in the city and I'd book it again.

This is an amazing place! The best hostel I've ever been to! Here I was treated like a member of the family and I truly enjoyed my month! Details: 1. Excellent location. There is a Whole Food store nearby. 2. Very clean inside. Clean linen, clean rooms and public places. 3. Safe. All rooms have modern electronic locks, and the front door has an electronic lock. codes change daily. The rooms have large metal cabinets for your belongings (bring your own small lock) 4. Comfortable beds with good mattresses. Inside the cell bed there is a shelf for a phone, USB and a socket. the cell is closed with a curtain 5. Cozy and comfortable kitchen. Large TV, hot cooler for making tea, refrigerator, microwave 6. And very responsive and attentive staff! 7. Secret - they have special prices for long stays.

it was awesome, clean, towel and locker, bed with complete privacy and USB charger, which i really appreciated.. easy late check in, neighbourhood was quite OK

Location is amazing and helped me a lot to get to my work destination! I’ve arrived later than expected (around 1 am) and struggled with the pin on the door, gladly, there was an assistant (Louis, I believe 😅) who helped me and let me in and assured me that I wouldn’t sleep outside :))) The bed was soft and the pod had everything I needed (light & outlet)Thank you so much! 🫶🫶

I probably would have wanted a small light in the lockers to avoid using the main light in the morning, however each bed has blackout curtains. So it balances out.... Or you can simply use your phone

I was in the upper bed the ladder is a little bit difficult to climb because the steps is to narrow.

They help me to stored my bike which I rented for 24hrs and used for exploring the downtown to bay area. Not all hostel will accept that kind of request that is why I appreciated a lot the help I got from the staff. I really like to stay in their lounge area its very clean and cozy the view is good. Definitely this place is highly recommendable for everybody.

Clean toilets and washing rooms. Also clean kitchen with place to talk, eat and work. Very friendly service. Close by is a bus stop to the Metro (airport) or harbour site. But even to walk is easy to the point of interests. In the bed areas are power units including mobile slots.

I received booking details for another guest, and was given access to their full booking including the option to modify it. I also wasn't originally sent the front door code and had to ring the very helpful staff to help me out. Luggage storage after checkout was in a stairwell and didn't feel the most secure, but was grateful for the option anyway. Though rooms feel secure, if you would like to lock your bag they dont provide padlocks for free.

Great location and easy to find. Very safe with a combo lock for the main front door and another into the room. Other guests were respectful of the quiet time. Everything was very clean and it was great to be able to store luggage after check out.
