1. Overall customer orientation from the staff- really bad- very curt 2. Rooms are very old- had to change rooms since furniture was missing 3. Bath-tubs really old and worn out 4. Equipment- telephones/ lights etc- not working 5. Carpet in the room worn off completely 6. Bottled water in the room- restricted to only 2 a day - for 3 people staying in the room 7. The helpdesk/ room service call is not picked up even after multiple rings- showed this to the engineering staff too 8. Breakfast is a coffee counter type cafe... no proper breakfast area. One should not pay for breakfast in the hotel.

The dining area which is also where you get a free coffee in the morning (thanks!) does not have natural light coming in, but of course this hotel is downtown New York so it's quite logical.

The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. On arrival we were given a slightly bigger room and were very impressed with the views from our room. I was told by friends it was a great place to stay and I will now not hesitate to recommend the New Yorker to others too!

The fact that I arrived on Mon and till Fri there was no cleaning, I eat at the property so really needed to change at least the bins, had to bring it out by myself / also, I had to take some towels at the gym to have fresh ones, the room is good for one person but two would be right
