SAVV HOTEL 3 stars

Hotel in George Town

Situated in George Town, 2.8 km from Northam Beach, SAVV HOTEL features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. - The cleanness is exceptional! 15 out of 10 for me. - I love every detail not only inside the room: bed, bathroom, shampoo and shower gel, and view facing the sea but also the lobby and the facilities provided that make me somehow relax. - The location is excellent. It nears the bus terminal, bus stops, restaurants, local shops, and bars. - The staff are really helpful and kind.

East Indies Mansion 3 stars

Hotel in George Town

Set in a restored private mansion, East Indies Mansion is located in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town. Everything. This is not your normal hotel. There is an old style history that is so different to your standard place. The rooms are large, uniquely outfitted, and had a charm that is hard to find. The staff were super polite and helpful. The location is great for enjoying Penang, especially the food. We enjoyed Kapitan, The Spicy Crab, and The Black Kettle the most and all are within easy walking distance. For atmosphere, try the restaurant directly opposite the Mansion. The whole family, including our 8 and 11 year daughters, all want to come back and stay again.

Noordin Mews 3 stars

Hotel in George Town

Noordin Mews is a boutique hotel housed in a historical building in central Penang. It offers an outdoor pool and provides free Wi-Fi throughout the building. Little oases in George Town, feels very cozy.. Breakfast was excellent. Staff, exceptional helpful and always very friendly. They always had a helping hand. Loved the room and little details in the room. Also, every evening we found a small surprise on the bed. The garbage was emptied twice a day, which I find a super service. And the ladies at the reception and Bala with his detail oriented touch and positive vibes made our stay just perfect. Definitely will be coming back. Thank you!

Coffee Atelier 3 stars

Hotel in George Town

Situated within the UNESCO World Heritage city of Georgetown, Coffee Atelier is a collection of 5 beautifully-restored shophouses dating back to 1927. Very beautiful authentic guesthouse. Ruby and Judy were very friendly and eager to help, with advice for things to do and places to eat, but also very caring when I sprained my ankle.

FAQs about hotels in Penang

A Palm-Lined Pearl

An island and part of the mainland make up the small Malaysian region of Penang, also known as the ‘pearl of the Orient’. It has long been coveted and the capital Georgetown has many elegant Colonial buildings. The observation deck of the KOMTAR tower – the tallest building – offers spectacular views of the town and surrounding mountains.

A funicular railway goes up to Penang Hill deep in the forest. Nearby Air Itam has one of Asia’s largest Buddhist temples - Kek Lok Si – lit by hundreds of lights at night. Another fantastic temple is Taoist Kong Hock Keong in Georgetown.

Penang Airport is near southern Bayan Lepas, and across the Malacca Strait is Pulau Jerejak, a peaceful island where trees merge into ocean.

In the much livelier north, Batu Feringghi is the largest resort, with lots of Penang hotels on the beach, plenty of bars and a night market. East, green mountains slope down to blue waters at Tanjung Bungah, where several high-rise hotels overlook the palm-lined beach towards the Floating Mosque just offshore.

On the mainland Butterworth is the departure point for ferries to Penang island, and has a bird park housing a large number of Malaysian species. Wherever you decide to stay, Booking.com has a fantastic range of Penang hotels and apartments to choose from.
