The whole staff team was amazing including the restaurant team (thanks Katie and Ahmed!). The beds were comfy, room extremely quiet and elevators super fast! We went back to the restaurant to eat 3 times because the food was so good. The concierge team was always friendly. They helped us with our luggage and was on point with everything we needed including taxi to the airport. We loved the coffee shop (Maman) right next door and my kids frequented the manga store nearby. Perfectly central location. Loved our stay!

Times Square
Alive with billboards and brightly-lit screens, Times Square thrums with energy. Yellow taxis fly past and tourists pause awestruck to snap photos on their phones. The bustle of New York summed up in one crossroads, every element competes for your attention. It may be often recreated for film and TV, but nothing beats seeing this iconic location up-close.

why is this even mentioned?
why is this even mentioned? crowded, often dirty, unsurprising and very touristy. if you like neon well maybe but it’s rather gross. exciting maybe for people who’ve never traveled. if you want to be awestruck, go to the 9/11 memorial.

Superb place at any time during the day.
Superb place at any time during the day. Specially after 3:00 PM when most theaters release all the available seats at the amazing shows for that evening.
Great place to stop and have something to eat after the shows.
Amazing feeling of a city that has a hard time to sleep at night.

Not really very much to see other than buildings with lights on it was noisy messy and not actually a square. We thought it would be a bit like leister square in London but it literally was just some building s we nearly walked past it.

Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly appreciate. However, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and the sensory overload! Don't pose for pictures with or even interact with the characters in costumes, unless you intend to pay them. If you want to see Times Square at the least stressful time, go at 3am. And the best food in NYC is NOT in Times Square.

Very clean, roomy bathroom with excellent spacious shower. Bed was very comfortable with crisp cotton bedding. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Location was very central and close to Times Square. There was no issue with street noise and even though we were close to the lift the hotel was quiet.
Excellent location, few minutes from the subway and nearby Times Square and Bryantpark. The staff is very very friendly, they gave me a free room upgrade because of my birthday. The beds in the room were good and the bathroom nice with the golden details. The rooms are being cleaned very well every day. I would stay in this hotel again.
This was my 2nd stay at this hotel, so that speaks for itself. Its great value for the money and I love the location. Although only a short walk to Times Square and the subway the location of the hotel is a quiet spot. Recpetion staff and breakfast staff were always pleasant and accomodating. The rooms were clean and cleaned daily and the size was adequate for what we needed. I will definately book here for my next stay.
Great hotel, whilst its in a dirty area it is close to Times Square and broadway to pop out at night. Walking distance to Central Park - hotel also had bikes you can hire for free. Very clean hotel and reasonably quiet for NYC. Would stay again!
Great location - only 5 minutes from the nearest subway and 20 minutes to Times Square. Room was a decent size with good A/C, and the shared facilities were always clean. Nice to have a sink/fridge in the room too :) toast, cereal, yoghurts etc provided in reception for breakfast. Has a hostel vibe which we liked!
Not our first stay at a CitizenM hotel, so we new what to expect, and CitizenM New York -Times Square did not disapoint. Our 3 rooms were (as requested) close to one another.
Loved Hotel Edison! Clean facility, friendly staff, easy check in at the kiosks, great security, quick elevator, great size room for New York, awesome amenities, beautiful view, and WOW the location! Literally in Times Square, close to everything, even some Broadway theatres across!
Spacious room by New York standards, and I loved the interior of the hotel - very Art Deco! The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent - easy access to public transportation and right in the heart of beautiful Greenwich Village. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a good option outside of the super touristy and crowded NYC areas like Times Square.
Residence Inn by Marriott has a perfect location just off Broadway between Central Park and Times Square. It is a big chain hotel with 60+ floors and all facilities you could expect including a well-equipped fitness centre. A big plus also for the guest laundry next to the fitness centre, very practical.
We stayed four nights in two wonderful rooms with a breathtaking view over the city and Central Park.
Since we had an early evening flight out of New York we asked for and got a late checkout without extra cost, highly appreciated.

Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.

Times Square is very busy as are most of the main tourist attractions, but the hop on hop off busses are great or if you don't mind walking choose another street other than broadway and it is far easier to walk down

Visit the city during the week. You could visit locations without being mobbed. Times Square on the weekend (first weekend in June) was a zoo - too crowded.
