Right on the shore of the scenic Kawaguchiko Lake, Hotel New Century boasts spacious Japanese-style rooms overlooking the lake and Mount Fuji.

The view from our room was simply spectacular - it was the main reason I booked this place. The room itself was lovely. Futons were very comfortable. The free shuttle bus from Kawaguchiko station was very convenient.

    Family of 5 looking to try a hostel as alternative accommodation to hotel or Airbnb. This was by far the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. Beautiful decor with a mix of classic Japanese with the bamboo mats in the room, with modern facilities. Incredibly friendly staff, lovely communal areas inside and out, happy hour bar and a great dinner. Location was short walk from station and easy to get to Lake Kawaguchiko. We even got a view of the summit of Mount Fuji on the final morning.

    This hotel is one of the most beautiful hotels I've stayed in Japan. It over looks Lake Kawaguchiko and the view is magnificent. The rooms are clean. The staff is so welcoming and helpful. Walking distance to good restaurants and activities. Lovely stay, 10/10 recommend.

    Excellent Japanese breakfast and dinner, room was spacious, comfortable and had a fantastic view overlooking Lake Kawaguchi from the balcony. Beautiful park at the hotel's doorstep which offered fantastic views of Mount Fuji. Staff were polite, helpful and offered a great service. Thoroughly enjoyed the food during our stay.

    From the moment we walked to the front door to when we left the hotel, we were very guppy customers. The service was second to none and the facilities were fantastic. We loved our private bath with views of Lake Kawaguchio. The traditional Japanese breakfast was a wonderful addition to our stay.

    The traditional Japanese nature of Hotel Asafuji was amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful with a great eye for detail. The dinner and breakfast that we had were SO good and beautifully prepared and presented at our own table. The onsen was great (a wonderful experience) and, of course, there was Mt Fuji visible (between times of cloud cover) from our room's window which also had an excellent view of Lake Kawaguchiko.

    Hotel is out of the way if the hustle and bustle of Lake Kawaguchiko. It's a reasonable trek to the lake but the scenery during the walk makes up for it. You are supposed to be able to see a towering view of mt fuji from the road in front of the hotel but unfortunately during the 3 days we were there it was foggy and we could see anything. When we come back to Fujikawaguchiko will definitely stay here again, hopefully it's sunny this time so we can see mt fuji.

    A slightly dated hotel, but the unique atmosphere, very friendly staff and great breakfast (including local hoto noodles) make up for it. There is a nice sento style common bath at the top (!) floor from where you can see mount Fuji. I can recommend staying in a Japanese style room, which was spacious and a windows to the nearby lake Kawaguchi as well as mount Fuji.

    We like this hotel with simple, quiet and cozy environment. This is our 1st night stay upon our arrival to Lake Kawaguchiko. Location is good which is easy to access to many restaurant and shop provided you are self driving. We love the Mount room view and the room space is good enough for 4 family members. The Parking is Free. We love the hotel breakfast as well, simple delicious with the option of Japanese or Western style meal. Highly recommended this hotel if you like to have reasonable hotel price charge with breakfast during your stay.
