In the Lake District village of Elterwater, the independent Elterwater Hostel offers dormitories and private rooms, with a communal lounge and dining area. Nestled in Langdale Valley, this hostel also boasts free WiFi, home-cooked food, cycle storage and is also just 2 minutes’ walk from the local pub. I had a great stay at Elterwater Hostel! The staff was extremely friendly & welcoming and the Hostel itself is a lovely place. There is a big common and dining room, which is very cozy. The kitchen is very spacious and well equipped. It is also very clean (haven't seen anything comparable in any other hostel so far), so are the rooms and bathroom facilities. All over, I would really recommend Elterwater Hostel and would love to come back anytime! Also the breakfast is really good! The Hostel is also very well located. That means if you aren't traveling by car you can still easily reach many hiking destinies, which are either directly around the corner or just a bus ride away. There is a bus stop within two minutes walking distance of the Hostel.

Wayfarers Independent Hostel has private twin rooms with en suite facilities, as well as dormitories with bunk beds. All have lockers, bedside lights and bedding provided, with towels available for hire. The room, bathroom and shared kitchen are extremely clean. The check-in process is nice, friendly hosts and the room (1) is bathing in light. The shower is heavenly. The area is peaceful and you are in no time in the centre.

Surrounded by lovely greenery in the heart of vibrant Keswick centre, YHA Keswick is just a 10-minute walk from Lake Derwentwater. It features a restaurant and self-catering kitchen.

Wi-Fi access is available, along with luggage storage. The majority of rooms contain bunk beds. Kitchen excellent. Really welcoming on arrival

The Beatrix Potter Gallery is located in nearby Hawkshead, and Lake Windermere is only a 10-minute drive from YHA Hawkshead. The lush greenery of Grizedale Forest is just outside the hostel, home to excellent mountain biking trails and a Go Ape! treetop adventure course. We stayed in the tent and really enjoyed it

Ambleside village is a 10-minute walk from the YHA hostel. It has a selection of quaint tea rooms, artisan shops and country pubs. Staff is very polite and friendly. Asked them to take early breakfast since we needed to be on our way early morning, and they prepare for us breakfast for take away with message that made my day! Place is very nice and location is nice. I hope i will come back next time! I would like to thank them!

Located in the market town of Keswick in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Denton House Hostel is just a 5-minute stroll from Keswick Leisure Centre. With free WiFi and free parking, Keswick Museum and Art Gallery and Cumberland Pencil Museum are also less than a mile away. The whole place has been freshened up, looks great. Good showers, building is clean and tidy. Great staff, very accommodating.

Located in Thirlmere, Fisher-gill Camping Barn offers free onsite parking and a terrace. Set within the Lake District National Park, the hostel is at the foot of the Helvellyn Mountains and just 5 miles from Keswick. It's a quiet little place. Deffo not the spot for getting drunk and partying. There's a nice cozy pub close by too

Situated in the Cumbrian countryside, conveniently located to visit the Lake District, YHA Helvellyn has on-site free parking and a bar. The nearest village, Glenridding, is a 6-minute drive from the hostel. The location was very great. Very nice and clean room. The bar and reception were great as well. Parking was nice as well. Easy to access.

Situated in Threlkeld, 12 km from Derwentwater, The White Horse Inn Bunkhouse features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Featuring a bar, the property is located within 23 km of Askham Hall. Free WiFi is available and Buttermere is 25 km away.

World of Beatrix Potter is 40 km from the hostel, while Lake Windermere is 43 km from the property. The nearest airport is Newcastle International Airport, 118 km from The White Horse Inn Bunkhouse. Easy to get to! Location is one of the best.

YHA Holly How offers dormitory-style accommodation in Coniston, a 10-minute drive from Hawkshead, Ambleside. It has a games room, a restaurant serving evening meals, and offers free parking on site.

Guests can go walking, cycling, and canoeing in the surrounding area, and there are mountains nearby. There are scenic trails for mountain biking, as well as opportunities for sailing. The room was spacious, with storage boxes provided under the beds. Multiple showers and bathrooms. Rooms cleaned daily. Great location to hiking nearby.
