Nice and clean place in the peaceful country side close to Hexham and some of the main sights along Hadrian's Wall. Nick was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. It was a quiet week so had the whole place to myself, but everything I needed was at the hostel/bunkhouse. Basic breakfast available for a cheap price, good WiFi, beautiful nature surroundings and quiet so I could get a good night's sleep. Good budget accommodation to stay for a few nights. Hexham is a 17 minutes drive with bus, the bus came only every second hour, but was always on time, so getting back and forth was relatively easy.

The staff was extremely friendly & welcoming and the Hostel itself is a lovely place. There is a big common and dining room, which is very cozy. The kitchen is very spacious and well equipped. It is also very clean (haven't seen anything comparable in any other hostel so far), so are the rooms and bathroom facilities. All over, I would really recommend Elterwater Hostel and would love to come back anytime! Also the breakfast is really good! The Hostel is also very well located. That means if you aren't traveling by car you can still easily reach many hiking destinies, which are either directly around the corner or just a bus ride away. There is a bus stop within two minutes walking distance of the Hostel.

Less than 5 minutes’ walk from the centre of Penrith, Wayfarers Independent Hostel provides comfortable accommodation to Lake District visitors. The room, bathroom and shared kitchen are extremely clean. The check-in process is nice, friendly hosts and the room (1) is bathing in light. The shower is heavenly. The area is peaceful and you are in no time in the centre.
