Great location in a park! Quiet, beautiful, 40 min walking to the railway station (there is a tram nearby also). The hostel is big and full of people, so it is possible to meet new people from all around the world.
Good breakfast, kind staff
I felt it was value for money. I got exactly what I paid for. Amsterdam is expensive, and everything I found under the price I paid for Abba was youth hostels with shared bunk beds. Not quite my vibe. But everything that this hotel advertised, it delivered.
It was a safe place to stay at for 2 nights, since it was a female-only hostel. Bed and bathroom were clean, but some shower doors were defect and couldn't be closed properly. Every bed has a plug and bed lamp. You can also leave your luggage at the store room if you arrive early before check in.
I got what I paid for. This hostel is one of the cheapest in Amsterdam, thus my expectations regarding the facilities and the comfort were not high. I got good sleep, I felt safe and everything went fine with checking in and out, so it was a good experience. Nonetheless there are small things that wouldn't require much attention from the hostel owners and would make the experience better: fixing the doors in the shower, cleaning the floor in the rooms (it was sticky)...
My son absolutely loved the bunk bed, and I personally enjoyed the crisp, clean sheets and incredibly comfortable mattresses! Friendly reception, secure key-card entry, good shower gel, perfectly clean toilet, towels, coffee machine and vending machine downstairs. All this, at the CHEAPEST price!
There was safe locker in the room! Oh, yes, the old elevator added a cool interesting aspect to the hotel's atmosphere. We had a fantastic time!
One of the best hostel I've been to. Beautiful room, clean, good location inside an old historic building inside a public park. The beds are comfy, with curtains if you need it and also a lot of space for the storage under the bunk bed. Didn't try the breakfast but some told me it was very good. It is close to tram stop. Amazing common spaces and different events are organised.
The room was very comfortable, there were 4 bunk beds as we were 4 of us, the hostel vibes were amazing in terms of the table tennis, fooz ball, billiards, arcade games, the bar was amazing, the breakfast in the morning was also very nice. they had a inhouse cinema as well where we could watch the movies. the best hostel i have seen in amsterdam.
The personnel were super cool and helpful. The hostel is pretty close to markets and public transport. The location was not nearly as bad as descibed in some internet forums. There was not a moment when we felt unsafe even during out nightouts. We had certain hesitations when choosing a female-only hostel (what about NBs? etc.), but It was the cheapest option we had and we do not regret it. Also getting rid of the male-gaze was a plus.
