Facing the Tagus River and built on seven hills, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It offers unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.
The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.
Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!
Getting to the city centre is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your holiday in Lisbon.

Wonderful City, the mix between a City Trip and a Beach day...
Wonderful City, the mix between a City Trip and a Beach day (30 min away from our hotel) was just great. Taxi‘s are not expensive but discuss price before entering into the taxi. If you plan to visit Sintra and other Tourist attractions better to take the tickets online as for us we could not visit the Castle only the garden when we arrived there and wanted to but a ticket.

My wife and I bought the 72 hours tourist cards.
My wife and I bought the 72 hours tourist cards. It was an amazing way to explore the city on our own terms and pace. Free public transportation, free access to many locations and attractions. If you are visiting Lisbon, I would highly recommend the tourist cards.
We visited castles, churches, many, many restaurants and shops. We loved the history of the city. It was our first time in Europe, and certainly not our last.
We also had a scooter accident and I must say the people of Lisbon were so very kind, helpful and compassionate. We needed to go to the hospital and without the help for these local people, I couldn't imagine how we would of managed it, being so far away from our home (Canada). A sincere THANK YOU to all that helped us that night. We will come back one day and finish our trip :)

Absolutely adored Lisbon and can't wait to go back.
Absolutely adored Lisbon and can't wait to go back. Such a walkable city with delights around every corner. The people were so friendly and helpful. Every meal and glass of wine was delicious. The history, architecture, it would have taken months to explore all the nooks and crannies of the city.

Lisbon is one of the most beautiful cities and overall...
Lisbon is one of the most beautiful cities and overall Portugal is an amazingly beautiful place! It has mountains, beaches, sun and sand, just the appropriate weather! Great food outlets and not as expensive as France or Switzerland. Its visual appeal as well as people are very genuine. Some of our fav places were. Old Town, Walking tours, warm weather, city walks, beaches and the shacks, Santa Maria Maior, Miserocordia,Almada, Sintra, Porto city, Vila Nova de Gaia in Porto, Bonfim in Porto for sever bridge cruise on private Yacht, Belem Tower etc. Uber and Bolt are the two cab partners easily available. I stayed 7 days, i would like to extend to 10 days on my next trip at least to be able to enjoy the best beaches of the world a little more .

Lisbon is such a great city.
Lisbon is such a great city. Be aware there's a lot of hills and steps (especially the Almafa district) so bring trainers!! A lot of the locals were wearing flowy clothing as opposed to strapless/shorts which I found interesting.
I went on a lovely free walking tour which gave such great insight into the history of the city.
Known for their seafood and pastel de natas, there was plenty of choice for food options.
Transport is frequent but busy - the tram especially (for tram 28, go early in the morn (I went around 9am) or for the last one and it won't be so busy. I actually ended up walking the tram route on one day and there's so many side streets to see that you can't see it all with the team - it's a novelty to ride the whole route - but there's more to see if you get off and walk! It's very walkable in the sense it's about 1hr radius for the places I went to, anyway.
If you get the day travel pass then you'll be able to take all teams and funiculars for free - otherwise the funiculars cost €4 (normally in cash) on the tram itself, but the pass is only around €5/6 for a whole day of travel included buses!! Such a good steal if you want to do a tram ride, even just one.
Everyone speaks a good level of English there, but a bit of Portuguese goes a long way!
Loved the location of this hotel. Could not beat how close it was to everything. Surrounded by some of the best restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The building is beautiful when you take the time to appreciate the fixtures, the old staircase, the wooden floors and the photographs placed around the building. The beds were comfortable, the view was great and we had AC that worked very well. It was hot in Lisbon.
Nice spacious rooms. Bit outside of the city centre, but with the metro very close this is a perfect location for a Lisbon city trip. Comfortable beds.
No sound from outside. Which surprised me, as it's a busy street and aircraft fly really low over the hotel.
Easy reachable from the airport. I used the metro, which in hindsight was not even the best solution. Metro takes about 40 minutes, where the bus would take only 15.
This hotel leans to the more "budget" friendly offerings in Lisbon, and for the price, you get excellent value here. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Hotel was clean, and in a great location downtown and close to the airport. I had to leave earlier than the breakfast was offered, but the staff offered to pack a small breakfast for me in a bag to take with me in the morning. Marta is the best!!!
It is the perfect stay - book already! Love this hotel and can’t wait to be back. The amazing rooms, design, history, breakfast. Not to mention the best location in town! Any marking down on booking.com is from people used to staying in 5 star chain hotels with a massive staff. ThIs is a boutique hotel. Having traveling the world in depth, this is always the better experience 😉
The young lady who checked me in was lovely and friendly. The shower in the small bathroom was excellent and very modern. The breakfast was okay. The area around the hotel is a working class area with some good, cheap restaurants and has a more realistic feel to Lisbon than the City Centre.
