Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. From luxurious mega malls like MBK and Siam Discovery in Siam Square to the famous Khao San Road in the Banglamphu district, this hard working city is packed with commerce, fiery food and soothing temples.
Catch a boat up river on the Chao Phraya Express or discover different neighbourhoods on the blissfully air-conditioned BTS Skytrain. A taxi or exhilarating tuk-tuk ride is never far away from the big attractions, which include Chinatown, Jim Thompson House and the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak.
To step out of the frenetic energy of street food stalls, amulet markets and the sizzling temperatures, discover an oasis of calm in one of the many Buddhist temples. Be awed by the majesty of the Grand Palace and marvel at the world’s longest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. While you’re there why not relax even more with a traditional Thai massage?

Like any other first time trip to any new location, either a) go with someone who has been there before or b) accept that you could be (probably will be) taken advantage of. $5 for a taxi ride that should only cost $2 is just the cost of learning your way around, but don’t spend $500 for a “great, tailor-made” suit without visiting 2 or 3 other shops that the tuk-tuk driver didn’t take you to.

We love Bangkok, this was our second visit, last year we stayed for 4 weeks next summer we intend to stay even longer. We have recommended all of family and friends to visit the city as soon as they can it's just wonderful. Everyone we interact with was so kind and friendly, everyone, traders, station staff, hotel staff, even Thai people going about their daily lives, just so friendly. It's a great place (we wish we could live there).

Very chaotic city.
Very chaotic city. Loved the food, but no interest in shopping, which is quite hectic and the main activity.
I really enjoyed the short trip to the Ayutthaya though: amazing temples, very entertaining guide. Great activity for a solo traveller if you join a small group. Air con in the bus is a must! Seriously. Learned that temples in Bangkok are a copy of these, so didn’t bother visiting them.
I would come back for the food though! Went to China town and enjoyed the chaos and food. I ate oysters with cheese and some spicy sauce, delicious. Jellyfish I wouldn’t bother. Try the coconut drink, it is huge, unique and refreshing. Also must: all curries: delicious.

You have so many, I mean so many, things to do in Bangkok, to see to taste to enjoy, so everybody leaves BKK satisfied !! I prefer the areas along Chao Praya river and the over-crowded Khao San Road area for sweety smoky-coffee bars😉. You can enjoy any nationality authentic meals, western, eastern, northern cooking style, you can taste crocodiles scorpions spiders and what ever else moves. It is very easy to move around Bangkok by any kind of vehicle when there is no traffic jam, otherwise avoid to move peak hours.

Bustling Asian capital. Lots of art, culture and fun.
Bustling Asian capital. Lots of art, culture and fun.
We used Bolt or Grab to get taxis for cheap. Food is stupendous and there is some for each and everyone. A nice warm up before exploring further.
Probably the cleanest and comfiest room we had in all our stays in Thailand!! The hosts spoke really good English and are very kind and helpful. We chose this hotel because of an early flight back, it's just 17' from the airport! Also the small garden made us feel like we're still in the Islands or maybe a small village up North. Definitely takes you away from Bangkok's traffic and noise
An absolute Jem
They also provide you with free coffee/ tea or chocolate which was a nice gesture
Incredibly beautiful, spacious and fresh rooms for a small price. A real gem within walking distance of the gigantic mall: Icon Siam. The free shuttle boat from Icon Siam to Asiatique is also a nice extra!
We have stayed here the most pleasant of all our hotels in Bangkok, partly because of the friendly employees: Ariel and Alex. Two toppers who take the time to make sure you feel at home!
The free coffee/tea every morning was also so nice!
I have stayed here numerous times when in Bangkok. The hotel is reasonably priced, clean and comfortable and the staff polite. it’s location makes it easy to get to and from the airport via BTS sky train and Airport rail-link. (Airport to hotel costs 71 baht and takes about 30-45 minutes) A lot of restaurants, shopping centres and tourist areas are either within walking distance or a short ride away via the BTS.
This is our first time back to Bangkok after 11 years. We had 2 rooms and staying for 5 nights. The hotel was nice and the room was spacious and clean. Dean and the rest all the staff from the Front Office was very friendly. The service rendered during my stay was exceptional. Staff from housekeeping was also very efficient in handling the requests
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean, good sized and very reasonably priced room. Close to a busy area of Bangkok but this street is an oasis of calm . Good Thai and Indian restaurants in easy walking distance. More welcoming and personal than bigger more expensive chain hotels.
