Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. From luxurious mega malls like MBK and Siam Discovery in Siam Square to the famous Khao San Road in the Banglamphu district, this hard working city is packed with commerce, fiery food and soothing temples.
Catch a boat up river on the Chao Phraya Express or discover different neighbourhoods on the blissfully air-conditioned BTS Skytrain. A taxi or exhilarating tuk-tuk ride is never far away from the big attractions, which include Chinatown, Jim Thompson House and the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak.
To step out of the frenetic energy of street food stalls, amulet markets and the sizzling temperatures, discover an oasis of calm in one of the many Buddhist temples. Be awed by the majesty of the Grand Palace and marvel at the world’s longest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. While you’re there why not relax even more with a traditional Thai massage?
From the sky-scraping luxury hotels with world famous rooftop bars to a cheap hostel bed in the centre of town, Booking.com will help you explore all Bangkok has to offer.
The city that never sleeps. It's safe. It's vibrant.
The city that never sleeps. It's safe. It's vibrant. It's modern. It's an affordable city to travel around, eat, shop, explore. This Kingdom loves their King. Everyone works for their daily bread. The water is clean. The food is safe to eat. During rainy season It only rains for 30 mins & then that's it for the day. You can tolerate the mild heat because there's air-conditioning everywhere.

I have seen Bangkok grow enormously over the past 50 years to a point where the tourist areas are no long enjoyable. The air quality has deteriorated, the transport is dreadful and the Thai people have lost their calm personality .

The people are very nice.
The people are very nice. Many of them struggles to speak in English but they are generally very nice and welcoming. Getting around Bangkok is easy if you are equipped with Google map (to show you ways to get to a place using public transport), Grab and Bolt for transportation. Bolt is a cheaper option but with less coverage and drivers. Learning the train lines and routes are useful to get around.
I definitely should have spent more time for Chatuchak. To shop in comfort but get the same product and price as Chatuchak, go to JJ Mall where you could still bargain the price.
Travelling around with boats and water taxi is highly recommended. My friends and I went to ICONSIAM using boat from Wat Arun. Totally worth the experience.
If you are vegetarian, there are many vegetarian restaurants. Since I'm a muslim, vegetarian is an easier option. Most vegetarian restaurant will ask if you're okay with garlic and onion which makes it convenient for vegetarian Buddhist. There are halal restaurants too if you keep your eyes open wide for the halal signs or the vendor wearing hijab.

Like any other first time trip to any new location, either a) go with someone who has been there before or b) accept that you could be (probably will be) taken advantage of. $5 for a taxi ride that should only cost $2 is just the cost of learning your way around, but don’t spend $500 for a “great, tailor-made” suit without visiting 2 or 3 other shops that the tuk-tuk driver didn’t take you to.

Very chaotic city.
Very chaotic city. Loved the food, but no interest in shopping, which is quite hectic and the main activity.
I really enjoyed the short trip to the Ayutthaya though: amazing temples, very entertaining guide. Great activity for a solo traveller if you join a small group. Air con in the bus is a must! Seriously. Learned that temples in Bangkok are a copy of these, so didn’t bother visiting them.
I would come back for the food though! Went to China town and enjoyed the chaos and food. I ate oysters with cheese and some spicy sauce, delicious. Jellyfish I wouldn’t bother. Try the coconut drink, it is huge, unique and refreshing. Also must: all curries: delicious.
I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the airport and the price. It is genuinely only 5 minutes from Suvarmabumi airport which means avoiding the heavy Bangkok traffic. I was transiting overnight in Bangkok which made it perfect. The room was clean and spacious with a rainfall shower. The restaurant was clean and the food was good value for money and tasty. There are fast food outlets 2 minutes walk away for anyone who would rather eat out and the inevitable 7/11 and pharmacy for anything else.you nay have forgotten.
Probably the cleanest and comfiest room we had in all our stays in Thailand!! The hosts spoke really good English and are very kind and helpful. We chose this hotel because of an early flight back, it's just 17' from the airport! Also the small garden made us feel like we're still in the Islands or maybe a small village up North. Definitely takes you away from Bangkok's traffic and noise
An absolute Jem
They also provide you with free coffee/ tea or chocolate which was a nice gesture
Radssion is best all around the world , Radssion Blu plaza bangkok is really best place to stay in heart of City .
Restaurant staff are really good , Housekeeping team are best on their job and Front office team really help me lot with information about hotel services and help to get it ,
Thank you everyone, Kitchen team for lovely food and security for helping us to get the correct way on street.
Best Teamwork, Thank you so much for your service and Hospitality in this country.
The location was the main issue - it was not close to anything in the city. The closest metro was a 15 minutes walk which was not a pleasant walk. The pool was ok but there were very few chairs available. The room was comfortable, the shower pressure was weak, and there are no outlets near the bed but that seems to be the standard in ibis hotels. For the price, you could get so much better in Bangkok and in much better locations.
It is one of my favourite hotels in Bangkok. This was my third stay with them and they never disappoint. Very large rooms, breakfast at 81st floor with an amazing view, free access to the revolving deck on 84th floor, 5 minutes away from Ratchaprarop ARL station, next to the Pratunam markets, excelent luggage concierge.
