It is a very small place but ideal to visit Urnes stavechurch, a total must and very easy to reach with the ferry which connects Solvorn with the opposite side of the Lustrafjord (actually part of the Sogneford).

Not a lot to do here; town is small and has one very good cafe - plus the expensive Walaker Hote - for food and drink. Quick ferry to Ornes to view the stave church is free for walk-on passengers. We had perfect weather for swimming at the beach, hiking up Molden for fjord views, and enjoying a glass of champagne in the hotel garden. Staff and food were excellent. The historic room had tons of charm. We only stayed one night but I could see spending a week to enjoy daily hikes, afternoon swims, and relaxing with a good book -- it's such a lovely, restful place!ElizabethUnited States
