This is a very cosy B&B for a stay at the Dutch seaside. Margriet and Koos are the friendliest hosts you can think of. I felt at home there from the second I stepped over the threshold.
The room was spacious, light, and comfortable. AND it has a fridge, which I totally apprciate, especially in the summer.
Breakfast is served in a very nice dining room, and trust me: no one will ever leave this room hungry :). If you want, you can even pack something for lunch (lunchbags are provided) or take something up to your room.
Location is a bit off the center of Egmont, but a five-minute walk will take you to all the nice little shops, bars and restaurants there. And just a few minutes more will take you to the beach, the sea, the dunes and the lighthouse.
The B&B is situated directly at a bus stop, so it is easy to reach by public transport, plus you can make day trips to e.g. Alkmaar or even Amsterdam.
There is a bike rental in Egmont, too, so bike tours through the national reserve of the dunes, or to Alkmaar, or wherever are no problem. Maps of bikepaths are available at the B&B.

Fantastic building, very atmospheric, restaurant excellent. Good secure parking for our bikes. Lovely surroundings for a walk. Breakfast buffet very fresh and lots of choice.

I loved the beach, it was clean, you have plenty sand space, I mean, this beach will never be crowded because the distance from where the sand starts until where the water is is very long. Help yourself on one of the traditional fried fish restaurants by the seaside, you won't regret. Cheers!AAnonymous - Scored 8.08.0
A small coastal resort outside Alkmaar.
A small coastal resort outside Alkmaar. Good coast walks and Alkmaar provides the local City to visit and rail transfer facilities to north south and west. We rode the trains to Enkhuisen via Hoorn. Enough bars and restaurants but I guess it would be very busy in the summer months. The local people were great and keen to talk to us which was good.

Very compact restaurant shopping area with an excellent beach. Very busy during tourist season which might tread on the tranquility aspect that it offers offseason. Beautiful spot to leave the car in the driveway and be a local.

The yard is surrounded by high fences which gives you a sense of privacy and was perfect to let the dog roam. Good location, only a few minutes walk from the beach and the town center. We did not meet the landlord in person but communication prior to arrival was good and getting the keys was easy. Would certainly stay here again if back in Egmond aan Zee.DanielaNetherlands

Also cities in the neighborhood like Alkmaar and Bergen are very nice. We used the nice sauna (3 rooms)
