Staff very responsive to first night feedback. Moved us to a quieter room for the rest of our stay. The red cedar japanese soaking tub was an unexpected highlight of the stay. Didn't think we would use it because of the climate, however, it was perfect to ease our tired muscles after a whole day of walking.

Ubud is a place for relaxation and many yoga and meditation centres have developed over the years on Indonesia’s most popular island. Booking.com offers a range of guest houses, villas, bungalows and world-class resorts with spa facilities or pool.

Bali is a wonderful place and all travellers seem to end up in Ubud at one stage or another as a result traffic can be a major problem in the centre particularly. I would recommend Ubud but suggest if you are looking for a bit of peace and quiet look for properties away from the centre. Taxis and drivers can be obtained easily and cheaply if you need to go any distance.

Great central location, perfect for day trips.
Great central location, perfect for day trips. Traffic very busy, pavements in poor condition. Lots of touristy shops and not much variety. Lots of great restaurants. Taxis available everywhere. Recommend the Mount Batur sunrise trip, the Mason Elephant park and snorkelling at Blue Lagoon.

The local guides and people were lovely and very generous in talking with us about their culture; and highly recommend organising a guide for a day tour. We also enjoyed a waterfall tour. Ubud itself is a strange mix of locals going about their business in a rural community, or catering for tourists and white "hipsters" and digital nomads doing their thing, including running businesses (eg: vegan restaurants, alternative healing practices).
There is not a lot of empty or public space for wandering or resting; and the streets are narrow and busy in the main areas. It meant that down time was either spent in our accomodation or in a cafe.

Ubud is busy, the streets are filled with tourists and theres always a great atmosphere. Theres many wonderful restaurants and cafes of every kind. We went to the market and wandered through which we enjoyed. We visited the Sariswati Temple, or the Lotus Cafe next door, not so keen on dressing up to visit the temple, but its lovely. We wandered into the Royal Palace and generally explored the streets surrounding our Hotel Adiwana. theres everything for everybody in Ubud. We walked the Campuhiun Ridge and downloaded an App Voicemap and did a self guided tour along there which was fabulous and made the ridge come alive with its history and stories. We had lunch at Milk & Madu, always great. We did the tourist swing which is well organised and visited a Waterfall. Ubud is a great place and different to the rest of Bali and definitely worth a stay or at very least a day trip. Ubud traffic is slow so allow plenty of time to get around. Like all Balinese places the footpaths are pathetic so you need to watch where you walk.

it's fun to maybe stay a night or 2 in ubud centre and explore the surroundings. my favourites are the nature walks on rice fields and the small roads and stairs away from the crowds. the ubud centre is a little too crowded and noisy for me but if you like shopping and cafe hopping there are plenty of things to explore around the area. horrible place to drive car though with the traffic and all, even motorbike can be overwhelming for some especially if you're not used to indonesian traffic. some places i recommend : siam kitchen (thai food), confiture de bali (artisan jam), sweet orange trail walk (walk path along the rice fields passing some really cool cafes and "warungs"), pison (good coffee and food). explore the outskirts of ubud if you like nature, plenty of waterfalls and great views around (less traffic and people too). as a local tourist, i don't find people in ubud centre friendly especially at the markets - but could be a different experience for foreigners. if you don't like to bargain, just avoid the markets altogether. personally i recommend the outskirts of ubud, everyone is chill and nice. air is fresher, its quiet and there are way less traffic and people. you won't be chased around by people trying to sell you useless souvenirs and tickets or tours every minute.

The best part was the authentic cultural experience.
The best part was the authentic cultural experience. Our driver was so genuinely appreciative that he took us to his home to meet his family and give us bananas from his family’s farm. Everyone in Ubud that we encountered took the time to share the history, customs and cultural significance of everything around us and were appreciative that we took the time to learn a few Balinese phrases. The traffic sucks!!!
A great hotel, offering villas with private pools that are actually completely private. Lots of amenities at the hotel also, very clean and comfortable. Bathroom is very cool, with a massive bathtub and shower.
Staff are all very kind and helpful, helping with bags, offering welcome drink.
Would recommend to anyone coming to Ubud, definitely worth the money!
The whole experience was wonderful, the staff were amazing , 5 star treatment throughout our stay. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The restaurant had a great selection to choose from, pool was also fabulous overall 10 out of 10
