Being located at the back of the site was great and I loved having morning coffee on the decking listening to the sound of the river.
Brilliant location for dog walks as just 5 mins to the beach walking along the river. The local area is stunning.
The caravan is dated but it was spotless and a brilliant base for exploring the local area. The beds were comfy & the kitchen well equipped. We appreciated the little touches like extra bin bags, toilet roll, tea bags and washing up liquid. The owner was lovely & we'd definitely return here.

Dunoon is very quiet, there isnt much to do unless you travel further afield, recommend Benmore botanical gardens but be prepared for a hefty hike if you want to get to the top of the view point. There are quite a few restaurants around but if you go at the weekend then book for you meals as the good restaurants fill very quickly. Would recommend the Lourne & the Tryst. Shops dont open on a sunday so dont expect to go for a wander on a sunday

Dunoon is still developing as a destination.
Dunoon is still developing as a destination. It is however a good base for travelling around Argyle and the Cowal peninsula. There are plenty of ferry links relatively to allow travel on Bute, The Mull of Kintyre and on to Arran as well as the link to Inverclyde. We were there for two half days but managed to see Puck's Glen and the Benmore Botanic Gardens, both well worth a visit.
Had a nice sit in Fish Supper beforwe going to a concert in the Burgh Halls. Burgh Halls was a good venue

Beautiful town with gorgeous scenery.
Beautiful town with gorgeous scenery. The Castle Museum is well worth a visit as the staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. The history of Dunoon is fascinating. The Lorne Inn is a great place to eat but there are plenty of other places too. Puck’s Glen with waterfall walk is nearby and the Botanic Garden is close by also. Dunoon is handy for the ferries to Gourock and the Isle of Bute.

I found Dunoon to be a pleasant and friendly town with all the amenities i needed. Cowal is a beautiful part of Scotland with tremendous opportunities for outdoor recreation. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, yet is close to Glasgow and its amenities.

A trip to Benmore gardens was worthwhile and the surrounding area is outstandingly beautiful. Dunoon it.self is beginning to feel a bit run down and neglected, very limited eating options at night even at the weekend where you strugle to find anywhere after 8pm still serving food apart from carry out food .

Dunoon is lovely the place itself is friendly views are nice very busy wee place .shame out hotel wasn’t as nice booked two nights stayed one but if your lucky to find good accommodation then Dunoon is worth a visit
Breakfast was a very full - and vegetarian, as I had asked. Cheerful, chatty waitress. I could take coffee out to lovely garden with good wood furniture and sea view. Also good to have lift to room on 2nd floor. I discovered there are local buses (being 80+ years, free bus travel) from the depot near ferry terminal from mainland, both very close to the hotel.
A great location on the edge of the Argyll forest. We spent a lot of time on the deck watching the birds and enjoying the privacy. Pucks Glen was on our doorstep and it is a wonderful place for walking the dog. The Cowall area is beautiful and we were close enough to get to shops and attractions easily.
I was looking for somewhere cheap to lay my head at night for a weekend festival, instead I found a clean, comfortable and well maintained hotel, with excellent staff within walking distance of the festival site. If we are playing again next year I will definitely re-book!
The owners were unbelievably hospitable, I've stayed in this area every year for the past 25, years but normally in Hotels, but never will again, from now on its the Clyde View, immaculate room, immaculate on suite and just totally clean, cant recommend highly enough.
The location is great, room was good, nice breakfast and wee pub below great too. Staff were fab too. The food in the Rio restaurant was lovely. I would come back to this hotel if staying in Dunoon.
