Opened in December 2016, No.15 Great Pulteney is situated just a 3-minute stroll from Pulteney Bridge, Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths.
Superb location, truly within a short walking distance to al major attractions. Well stocked pantry and bar, a range of room service available. Right before checkout my mobile disappeared into thin air… Practically the entire front team threw themselves into the search and rescue operation, accompanying me back to the room to look under the bed etc, and trying to call, offering me the bar space to look into my luggage once more. Which was to no avail, until miraculously one housekeeping member located it just like that! Credit goes to everyone since they wouldn’t reveal the name of that particular rescuer haha! One tiny detraction, though unrelated to the hotel per se!—is that be prepared for less living space in en-suites. After all it’s located on one of these fashionably famous Bath crescents, so don’t expect cooking counters, kitchen taps and so on. But filtered water is available in the pantry, and in the room you have a corked bottle enough for daily drinking. 10/10 will come back next time find myself in Bath, hopefully could spa(lash) on de luxe rooms then.

Roman Remains and Georgian Grandeur

Wonderful, World Heritage-listed Bath is an impressive mix of Georgian architecture and Roman legacy. Its most famous landmark is the fantastic, natural hot spring Roman Baths. Although everything above the pillar bases is from a later period, you still get an idea of its appearance in Roman times. Sadly you can’t bathe here, but across the street the rooftop pool at Thermae Bath Spa offers views of Bath Abbey and the surrounding hills.

Check out the stained-glass windows in the abbey, England’s last remaining Gothic church. Its square houses Pump Rooms dispensing hot spring water from the Roman baths.

Just behind, the Parade Gardens by the River Avon overlook Bath Rugby Club, the multi-levelled Pulteney Weir and Grade I-listed Pulteney Bridge, lined with shops. Other Bath shopping options are the Southgate Shopping Centre, the bohemian Walcot Street market, and high street stores on Milsom and George streets.

North is The Circus, a circular square lined with Georgian townhouses, only marginally less impressive than the Royal Crescent down the road. You can now visit number 1 Royal Crescent, restored to its 18th-century glory.

Before heading to Bristol Airport from your Bath accommodation, take time to try the famous Sally Lunn Bun and stop at the pleasant pubs along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

    Bath is a beautiful city offering plenty of indoor and outdoor activities within easy walking distances. We opted on arrival to go on the open top buses doing both tours inside and just outside the city which helped us work out where we wanted to visit on foot. We enjoyed eating and drinking at independent restaurants, cafes and bars. The city has a friendly atmosphere with stunning architecture. If you love books a visit to Toppings and Mr B’s Emporium is a must. We also took a tour of the Masonic Hall in Old Orchard Street learning about its previous lives as a theatre and church.

    Bath is the best little city in England with great...

    Bath is the best little city in England with great architecture and lots to do, from the Roman Baths, the Thermae Spa, live theatre (Theatre Royal, The Egg, and The Ustinov Theatre), museums, live music, fun pubs, world-class restaurants, walking trails, and, most importantly, very nice, welcoming locals, who appreciate visitors. It also makes a great base for travel into the Cotswolds, Bristol, Wales, Glastonbury, Wells, and the West Country. My advice is that you book a good-value AirBnB in the centre of town and spend a full 5 days here if you can.

    Beautiful, lots of beautiful buildings, a visit to the Abbey, Roman Baths is a must. Plenty of lovely restaurants, cafés and pubs. So much history, it's amazing. No transport needed as everything in walking distance.

    An amazing place, 2 days was nowhere near enough to see everything, although highly recommend the Bus Tours, City and Skyline. Roman Baths are fascinating, if a little expensive to visit, Abbey well worth a look, but dont ask to use the Toilet if you havent bought a ticket!

    Thermae spa, we visit every year. Like getting into a warm bath. Exceptional cleanliness We did struggle to find somewhere to eat. I am disabled, parking free in road for 3 hours most shops accessable to wheelchair. Beware cobbled streets, almost got tipped out of chair

    Wear good quality shoes/footwear, ready for all the walking you'll do, don't forget its an old place so some footpaths and road surfaces are uneven. People in Bath are very friendly and helpful. Loads of places to choose from for meals/drinks etc. Its also a very very busy place during the weekm, weekends are a bit quieter. Roman baths are amazing, thought it would be a short tour -no, loads to see underground.

    Just 1 or 2 minutes from the city centre. Very clean linen, bathroom and the room. Spacious too. Good breakfast selection. My favourite is waffle - you can make yourself. Nice staff. Nice restaurants, pubs jut outside the hotel. I stayed in Hampton by Hilton Birmingham and Hampton by Hilton Oxford before. Bath is the best.

    Friendly staff, lovely breakfast room, good choice of food. A great location and parking was available at the hotel. We arrived early but could leave the car at the hotel and leave our luggage whilst we walked into Bath city centre. It was only 10 minutes to the shops and restaurants of Bath.
