Nothing went well, the trip was a disaster. The location was awful, my wife did not feel safe, many questionable looking characters frequenting the frontage, the room was uncomfortable and lacking every normal facility including a wardrobe or place to hang /store clothes. There was no en suite bathroom and the nearest outside one had a broken handle so we could not enter. The bedroom stank of cigarette smoke. Our fourth floor room was stiflingly hot needing me to open the window at 2.45am but soon afterwards had to close it again due to the noise of vehicles revving in the street below and distressed women screaming outside.

The Metro Service is very good for getting around the city...
The Metro Service is very good for getting around the city and it just needs a little time spent reading up / watching videos on how to buy tickets etc. Some of the stations have quite lot of stairs between platforms so it's good to be aware of this if carrying suitcases on arrival.
Restaurants can be pricy for lunch and dinner but only what would be expected in a large city.

What I like most about Paris is the diversity of the whole city, Everything in Paris within city limit is walkable and taxis are very accessible. Lots of restaurants surrounding hotels and souvenir shops are everywhere.I like all the city's landmarks and archetictural designs of the buildings. Luxury shoppings as one of my favorite things to do is so much fun with lots of selections.

in night time it looked scary while waking in the footpath. Saw some street fights. Seems too many immigrants not respecting the local culture. Metro rail is good to travel around the city. Staying at city center helps to do sight seeing easily.

I was in Paris in 2019.
I was in Paris in 2019. I loved it then but, for some reason, had been slightly disappointed. Revisiting it in 2024 gave me a better impression. It wasn't because of the Olympics (if anything, that dampened things, as there were signs all over that obscured some of its more beautiful facades), but that I had a more in-depth experience of it. I think the people were more welcoming this time round (that could've been because of the Olympics). I also had more time to walk around and it was nice to see the city in that way. I highly recommend a variety of ways of experiencing the city (walking, using the subway, etc.).

I have been to Paris many times - this was an unexpected stay after a woman stole my passport at Charles de Gaulle. The police showed no interest. There are too many visitors and you need to be on extra alert at all times.
The Musee d'Orsay, Musee Picasso, the Eiffel Tower and the tartes d'abricots brought joy

It took a little time to understand the bus and metro...
It took a little time to understand the bus and metro schedule. I was disappointed that restaurants closed so early and that buses stopped running. I found most Parisiens very helpful with directions and advice, however. Overall, our stay was wonderful.
The hotel has perfect location and you can easily visit a few attractions just by walking. There are many good restaurants near by. Every staff member at the reception was very friendly and helpful. They upgraded us to a higher floor with a great view and left us a very nice handwritten card and candies on the bed to wish us happy anniversary. We greatly appreciate it! If you plan to visit Paris, I highly recommend Hotel du College de France. A perfectly located hotel with amazing staff.
The hotel is situated in a very good location 3 minutes from ternes metro station,Charles de Gaulle–Étoile metro station,Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées. The staff was very nice and helpful with every need. The room was good, it had a large bed and a big shower. Overall I had a very good experience and felt that the price was relatively low (considering the fact that Paris is not a cheap place). When I come back to Paris I will definitely consider staying there again.
They have upgraded our room to a family room which was nice, they always make up the room everyday, the staff were so helpful as well, there was one staff who has helped us out how to get around paris easily. And the best part is the location, ita close to shops restaurante and the gare du nord station which was a plus coming from outside france and arriving at this station it was very convenient to just walk out of the station to the hotel
Cheap hotel in a good location in Paris. Nothing fancy but clean and the staff is friendly. For the price, you cannot go wrong. I have stayed here multiple times, I cannot figure out why it has been rated poorly. It is great for the price and all I can assume is people have ridiculous expectations when it comes to budget accommodation.
Very nice, quiet hotel in the Latin quarter of Paris. For our stay of a few days it was perfect. Close to lots of good restaurants, Notre Dame Cathedral and the river. Room was lovely, decorated in the French style which we loved. Staff were friendly and helpful with our many questions (we are not from France).
