Felt more like a town rather than a big city, felt very safe (at least in the areas we visited), people very polite and English spoken by quite a lot of locals. We travelled by local train and this was very easy, trains frequent. Berlin Welcome Pass worth considering. We went for a long weekend(4 days/3 nights)and there was more than enough to do just in Berlin itself. Surprisingly, it seems an excellent place if your vegetarian/vegan as we are-ate at Turkish, Vietnamese, Indian veggie/vegan restaurants. Plenty of eating places overall. We did the free walking tour (Sandemans), visited the Holocaust Art Memorial and Museum, Charlottenburg Palace, Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, East Side Gallery, Berlin Love Parade, Victory Tower.Interesting architecture.AAnonymous - Scored 1010

We like to walk a lot fantastic walking routes all around the city. I feel you see more of the things you might otherwise miss as you walk around the city. I stayed for three nights and could have stayed longer. But saying this I will go back. I fell in love with Berlin and this is my third visit to Germany. Berlin has a lot to offer to every community and age range under the sun. It is obvious that the government and local councils think about the people and care, including disabled and LGBT communities as well as the elderly. There is always something to do, something to see and new people to meet. I love the efficiency of the transport system which allows you to pack so much into a day. There is only so much you can put into words. Suffice to say, after visiting many countries and cities Berlin has become my favourite. It’s an interesting city in that it has many different parts and areas that are all different. The public transport is easy to use but I did get lost walking using google maps.
