An outdoorsy city ranking among the world’s most livable, Vancouver is sheltered by Vancouver Island and the Pacific Range mountains. The most famous peak, Grouse Mountain is a favourite spot for hiking and skiing. Take the cable car up for magnificent views of the city's skyscrapers and huge Stanley Park.
Skirting this park is the Seawall, a popular biking trail with paths passing the Vancouver Aquarium, picnic spots and a pitch ‘n’ putt course. There are also a couple of beaches, but the best ones are along English Bay in Kitsilano.
Granville Island is just across False Creek from Yaletown and houses some quirky shops and markets. Ferries depart from here to near BC Place Stadium and home ground of the city’s football and American football teams. The legendary Vancouver Canucks ice hockey team play next door at Rogers Arena.
With the largest Chinatown in North America, Gastown is the oldest part of Vancouver and is near the Canada Place cruise ship terminal.
We could go on and on about British Columbia’s largest city and never do it justice, so why not try it for yourself? Booking.com has a fabulous range of accommodation, from hotels near Vancouver Airport in Richmond to downtown B&Bs and motels near each of its ferry ports.
A clean welcoming beautiful city. Loved Stanley Park and green spaces and trees everywhere. Enjoyed hop on off bus and horse carriage tours and seaplane ride to appreciate this vibrant memorable city.

Excellent city for walking, so take the time to wander.
Excellent city for walking, so take the time to wander. Capilano Park exceeded our expectations. Stanley Park was a delight to walk around. Managed to find great coffee at a number of locations. People are very friendly for a big city. The Sky rail provides easy transit of the city. Bill Reid Gallery is small but worth a visit and has friendly, informative staff. Walk to Granville Island and have fabulous lobster rolls and enjoy the markets. Homelessness and drug affected individuals in the Gastown area was very sad ( West Hastings Street) not threatening but confronting because of the number of people in dire straits.

After coming of an Alaskan cruise , my wife & I wanted to stay 2 nights in Vancouver . If you are coming a long way why not check out the city? Its somewhat expensive to get around by Uber but you'll do just fine exploring on your own. Check out Gastown and the popular steam clock. It was fun.

If you're up to it, and weather is right, look into renting the bikes on almost every corner. You really don't need a car if you do that. Don't miss Grouse Mountain and catalano bridge (not in winter, obviously). Tough to do both in one day, however, but can be done.

It's a nice city to get away from cold and dry weather.
It's a nice city to get away from cold and dry weather. The humidity and temperature climate in Vancouver are just great. In July, you can swim. In January, you can ski; all other months are the perfect temperatures for hiking, eating at a restaurant, or being outdoors. There is a lot of bad smell of urine and cannabis downtown, but other places are great, especially beaches and parks.

Excellent city to visit.
Excellent city to visit. We had 2.5 days there which was perfect. We were very lucky with perfect weather that helped. We were told that Weather in Vancouver is often overcast and rainy. For us early July worked perfectly.
Bed was very comfortable, loved the Nespresso coffee pod machine in our room. The staff were helpful and friendly. Prior to us arriving provided lots of useful information of what to do in Vancouver. The location is convenient to downtown Vancouver and walkable to major attractions, Stanley Park , Granville Island, Canada place waterfront where tours can be arranged . Cafe Elysian next door and also the Burgoo Bistro. The meals there were delicious, reasonably priced and friendly staff.
Big, bright, modern room. Excellent cleaning and reception and concierge staff were excellent. The location is in just about the best part of downtown Vancouver. The staff were extremely welcoming, from our first arrival, and every time we came in and went out of the hotel. They made sure they got to know us as guests very quickly. Very impressed, would highly recommend.
Location is really central for downtown Vancouver. Staff very friendly and helpful. On site facilities include a good sports bar, coffee and cocktail bar, Italian restaurant and a liquor store. Best of all the hotel gave us vouchers on arrival to use in these, (except liquor store).
Luxurious hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Friendly staff, comfortable room, modern design and finishes. Complimentary turndown service is a nice touch.
