Slightly downstream are the American Falls, less well-known and less impressive, but worth a look. At night, both falls get illuminated by coloured lights – an incredible sight. Further downstream is the Rainbow Bridge which you can walk across to get an American stamp in your passport. Just check your visa requirements first.
The city itself has 7 golf courses – one is close to the river, so be careful with your swing! Other Niagara Falls attractions include casinos, cinemas and Marineland Canada, featuring the world's largest whale habitat for viewing orcas both above ground and below.

Niagara Falls is spectacular. We did the American side first and then stayed over night on the Canadian side. The trolley was a lifesaver because it rained the day we were there. The Maid of the Mist was a highlight.

We took a 7-hr day trip which was a tour to all of the highlights in both the states and Canada and it was fabulous! I recommend taking the Viator Niagara Falls in 1 Day as something you do on day 1 or 2. This then allows you to determine what else you want to do. We ate at the 21 Club and the chilean sea bass was excellent. The area around Clifton Hill is flat and easy to walk, so for certain this is something that everyone should do.

We didn't come to see the falls so the area was a little busy for us. We were going across the border to Lewiston and it took over an hour to get across the Rainbow Bridge. A great location if you want to see the falls and enjoy what Niagara has to offer.Kathy - Scored 1010

Would not recommend going to Skylon tower, they are pretty quick at taking you to the top and then just leave you strangling there in long queue to come back down. Loved Niagara Falls and the time of the trip was just right - 4 days. But, the first day we went to Toronto to see the city and that left a few Niagara things undone. But it was absolutely beautiful and am so glad I got to check it off my bucket list. We're already talking about coming back. But, Canada in July is just as hot as Baltimore. Thank God for the mist! Make sure to ride the AeroCar which goes over the whirlpool and is a stunning and affordable attraction at $19 Canadian. Hornblower Cruise was great and another reason for going, but packed a little tight with people. The White Water Boardwalk Trail was also well worth the visit! Fork You was our favorite restaurant. The food is Peruvian, which I've never tried. Two very picky eaters, myself included, loved everything we tried. The owner was very welcoming.CandaceUnited States

We upgraded to a falls view and that was the best decision of the whole trip. The views were breathtaking. The decor of the room felt a little outdated, but this can only be expected with it being a hugely popular and busy hotel with tourists. The base cost of a room also reflected this with it being slightly overpriced. We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriot. This hotel is 1 block from the fun zone and less than a 10 minute walk to the water front. There are at least a dozen places to eat within a few hundred yards, either sit down or fast food. Late night munchies.... No Problem! There is a Pizza Hut, KFC and Baskin Robins open until 2am on the lower floor as well as a Denny's in the parking lot (only open 24hrs on Fri and Sat but still open late).
