FAQs about hotels in Brisbane

Sun-Drenched and Leafy

At the meeting point of Australia’s Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, laidback Brisbane is spread around the meandering river running through it. The river’s arty South Bank is home to Australia’s largest modern art gallery, tranquil gardens and an artificial beach. Just opposite is the towering skyline of Brisbane's CBD, where many hotels in Brisbane city centre are located.

Nearby are the botanic gardens and Queen Street Mall, the most popular Brisbane shopping spot. More shopping centres are found all over the city, and the out-of-town malls include one in the Indooroopilly suburb by the foothills of Mount Coot-tha.

This green hill offers fabulous city views and has a planetarium, nature reserve and yet more botanic gardens. In Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary to the south you can hug one of the loveable animals, while Australia Zoo – Steve Irwin’s legacy – is a good day trip.

Brisbane is a very leafy city and one of its parks – Wickham Park – contains the Old Windmill, Brisbane’s oldest building. To the north-east, the Fortitude Valley suburb is known for its vibrant music scene and Chinatown. Across the river in Woolloongabba is The Gabba or Brisbane Cricket Ground, and nearby is the bohemian West End district.

As well as central accommodation, Booking.com also offers hotels near Brisbane Airport in a north-eastern coastal suburb.

The drivers were very intimidating in and around city centre. The roadways can be confusing and frustrating if you've never been there before, so make sure you do your homework before trying to get anywhere by road, its easy to get onto to toll roads and incur unwanted and unnecessary expenses and end up in areas you never planned to go to....then have to find your way out again. Could be improved if you were allowed to shoot abusive drivers. Parking in the city is akin to licensed armed robbery, so make use of public transport is my advice, but if you're using the bus, you can't use cash or card, you need to get a special pass card from newsagents to tap and go on the bus.

Brisbane is perhaps overlooked by modern travelers who often opt to fly into the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast or see it as a weaker city to other's in Australia. These travelers are missing out on what we found to be a vibrant city with plenty see, eat and do. It offers up a wonderful museum and art museum as well as beautiful gardens, bridges and river side walks. We found the shopping in the queen street area to be world class and enjoyed the local restaurants and bars. Overall a very accessible city free of congestion.

The location was perfect, surrounded by different restaurants, not far from the airport and the city or Fortitude Valley. Perfect place to chill. The bed was so comfortable, the pillows were so comfortable, as many hotels that's one thing that I find is not so comfortable. A very friendly neighborhood. The check in and out of the hotel was without any fuzz and was so easy to do. The apartments were peaceful and relaxing. Loved it.

This place is the perfect location to explore around Brisbane having southbank up the road which takes 5mins on a E-scooter & the CBD across the storey bridge. The apartments are close to most events being held in Brisbane areas as well which works out perfectly. A comfortable and modern hotel in the middle of Brisbane city. The views were superb. The bed was comfy. The room felt clean and comfortable and had nearly all amenities you would need. I booked a corner room which had an incredible view over Southbank and the river, which was even more beautiful as the sun went down and the city lights came on.
