I had read as much as I could about Dubai before arriving, and had joined a number of social media groups, however my expectations were exceeded. As a single female traveller I felt safe and respected, the price of food was much cheaper than I was expecting and I loved every minute of my short holiday. The weather was brutal in terms of the heat, but I was prepared and tried to stay out of the heat during the middle of the day. The metro system was easy to use (although i would suggest using the Gold Nol card to avoid the over-packed carriages). Take good walking shoes, as you will be doing a lot of walking if you use the metro. The local supermarkets are super cheap and you can buy some great souvenirs from them as well as all the food you need. Dubai doesn't have to be an expensive holiday - I did on the cheap and loved it.

The architectural marvel and the panoramic views from the observation deck left a lasting impression. Exploring Mina Market was a delightful experience. We actually liked the location, not that far from the Emirates Mall and the Dubai Marina. It is further from the middle or the airport, but that suited us. We took Taxis to the centre and World Trade Centre which cost about £30 each way. The beach is fantastic and having a tame cat never does any harm. There were a number of restaurants on site and we stayed in a few nights.

Eine was very accomodating and responsive to any requests we made. Facilties shared with the Marriott hotel and were all of 5 star quality.
