Just like every summer has an official song, it has to have a drink: refreshing, not too sweet, easy enough to make for a backyard barbecue or a trip to the beach. Put away that bottle of rose, because this year is going to be the summer of the margarita. But not just any margarita, the Cilantro Margarita.

Silver tequila shaken with fresh cilantro leaves, freshly squeezed lime juice, and just a touch of sweetness is what we're digging for 2015. It’s bright, fresh, and has the perfect hint of green. I’m a big juicer but I tend to save my cold-pressed greens for breakfast—I prefer just a hint in my cocktails.

This is one of our favorite dump-n-shake cocktails. Just dump all the ingredients, including the cilantro, in a cocktail shaker and shake until frosty. The ice will help break up the herbs and turn the liquid a delightful pale green. Strain the cocktail so you don't get any herb bits stuck in your teeth. If you're a cilantro hater, you can use basil or mint instead.

Shake up a batch for the beach, the deck, or on your fire escape. Just know that it's perhaps best when paired with fish tacos or a heaping side of guacamole. Catch you poolside.
