The Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley are home to stunning natural beauty and a wide variety of outdoor activities. The spectacular Wye Valley Walk follows the river through the Wye Valley and is a great way to see this area. You don’t need to follow the entire route, dipping in and out will introduce you to villages and scenic spots. This area is also popular with water sports enthusiasts. Many places along the river offer canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding for you to try. Heading back to civilisation you will find several towns and villages where you can wander the streets. Cinderford, Coleford and Lydney offer local pubs, craft hubs and museums. Even on rainy days there is plenty to keep you entertained!

There are so many opportunities for day trips no matter where you stay in this region. Tintern Abbey, Goodrich Castle and Chepstow Castle are highlights for a step back in time. Beauty spots are abundant in the area and a walk up to some of the higher points, such as the Eagle’s Nest or the Devil’s Pulpit by Tintern provide far-reaching views.
