Having been designed by Espen Øino, the 61.8-metre Viareggio Superyachts' (VSY) exteriors have classic lines. Her profile is well-balanced and elegant – a more traditional and timeless-looking yacht – but what her exteriors don’t do is hint at the whimsical styling which lies beneath. The luxury charter yacht's previous name, Candyscape II, alludes to her eclectic interiors, having been designed by the illustrious Candy & Candy studio.
Emulating 1930s glamour, Sealion’s interiors are filled with a mind-blowing collection of objet d’art, including a spectacular Schimmel glass grand piano in the main saloon and an ornate glass lift linking the lower deck to the bridge deck. In contrast to her exteriors, Sealion’s interiors are on the darker side, with dark-stained oak floors and black lacquer paired with shades of taupe and silver. The result is elegant and contemporary, perfect for impressive charters in the Med.

The 61.8-metre tri-deck charter vessel was built by Italian shipyard VSY in 2009 with an impressive set of capabilities. Her hull is double steel, for strength and durability, and equipped with Naiad stabilising fins, ensuring comfort while underway and at anchor. Sealion was built to RINA class with naval architecture by Espen Øino.
Stepping on board, the feeling of the interiors is ballroom-ready with its monochromatic theme and combination of lacquered finishes. The main saloon is filled with comfortable seating that's split in two by an 'S' shaped chaise, as well as a black bar and elegantly lit glass cabinets. It is the perfect setting for entertaining guests, but certainly not the only entertainment space on board.
Accommodation on board is for 12 across six cabins, all running to Sealion’s impressive aesthetic. A split-level master cabin can be found on the main deck, which boasts panoramic views, a walk-in dressing room and a spacious Grigio Carnico marble ensuite complete with a spa bath and shower, both with in-built televisions.
The best way to reach the other cabins is via the glass guest lift, which runs from the bridge deck to the lower deck with its four guest cabins, comprising two convertible twins and two spacious doubles. Each of the bathrooms is designed in black and white marble with mirrored surfaces.
Life on board Sealion
Sealion has an abundance of entertainment space, especially on the sundeck, where guests will find lounge areas and a cinema room. Taking up more than half of the space, the sun deck is also home to a bar, jacuzzi and sun pads to soak up the Mediterranean rays. Guests don’t need to leave the jacuzzi to sit up at the bar, which overlaps with the tub. Two black parasols shade the space forward, while more shade can be found in the central sofas.
Moving aft on the sun deck, guests will find an al fresco dining space, a large circular sunpad and sun loungers. While the main dining space can be found on the aft deck around a large circular dining table, more adventurous guests can be closer to the water with an inflatable cabana with its own table that connects to the swim platform.

Where will Sealion be cruising?
Sealion is available for charter with Northrop and Johnson, with a weekly rate starting from $480,000. This season she will be cruising the Western Mediterranean, including Montenegro, Malta, Monaco, French Riviera, Croatia, Amalfi Coast, Corsica and Sicily.
