We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated doctors to work in Barts Health NHS Trust Sexual Health and HIV Services. These fixed term posts are to commence on 7th August 2024. The post-holders will have the opportunity to work and be trained in a combination of STI, contraception and HIV services depending on their previous experience. We have particular expertise in training and will supervise CESR application in GUM if required by the applicants.

Main duties of the job

We operate two large Centres of Sexual Health Excellence and multiple satellite services for across our East London network seeing over 100,000 attendances per year. We offer services 6 days a weeks including evening clinics. Barts Health has a cohort of approximately 5,000 HIV positive patients who are a very diverse population of African and Eastern European heterosexual men and women and men who have sex with men (MSM). We also see numerous late presentations of HIV as in-patients. The post is suitable for those interested in pursuing a career in Genitourinary Medicine or Community Sexual and Reproductive Health. This post will provide a fantastic chance to gain wide clinical experience, excellent supervision and many teaching and training opportunities in integrated sexual health.

Previous experience in the specialties would be an advantage but is not necessary as training will be given.

Qualifications
Essential

  • MBBS/MBChB or equivalent medical qualification

Desirable

  • MRCP (UK) or MRCOG or equivalent
  • DFSRH

  • Eligible for full or limited registration with the GMC at time of appointment
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice including:

  • b) have the following scores in the academic international English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Overall 7, Speaking 7, Listening 6, Reading 6, Writing 6.
