38-hour week in dynamic Aboriginal Health Clinic

Join our ambitious team for a phenomenal work-life balance, challenging but rewarding medicine in supported and encouraging environment.

The Health Clinic

The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service which has been caring for the Broome community for more than 40 years. When we first opened our doors in 1977, BRAMS was the first remote Aboriginal Medical Service in Western Australia. BRAMS provides comprehensive, holistic and culturally responsive primary health care, social and emotional wellbeing services, and disability support to Aboriginal people living in Broome.

Currently, the clinical service is run by a GP who was born and raised in Devon and completed his medical and GP training in the South-West of England. We have a number of other UK trained GPs as well. We have a team of around 15 GPs, mostly part-time and lots with young families, who are all excellent clinicians who work with compassion and great care, to provide first-class comprehensive health services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples of Broome and the surroundings area. The large clinical team is made up of Aboriginal Health Workers and nurses as well as disability and aged care services with a growing team of allied health professionals.

Given the nature of the socio-economic plight and huge burden of disease in Broome and the Kimberley we are in need of more help as we aim to expand our services. We want to deliver better day-to-day primary health care but better service the dialysis unit, the nursing home, outreach to the high-schools, improved engagement with those suffering with mental illness and more. We need more caring GPs who want to make a difference but who will be well rewarded for their efforts. No experience in rural or Indigenous health required, as training will be provided in an incredibly supportive and enriching environment.
