Fevers Vintage

Fevers Vintage is Dundas West's very-own vintage haven.

In 2022, twin brothers and co-founders Timothy and Andrew Paul, 33, opened the first location of Fevers Vintage on Roncesvalles Avenue. Their second location near Dundas and Ossington just turned a year old.

Fevers VintageAfter eyeing the $20 rack, I was drawn into the Dundas West storefront by the colorfully painted mannequins, twinkling Christmas lights and antique lamps in the window displays.

Inside, stocked were all the goods one would expect to find in a vintage store. Hats, belts and silk scarves spilled out of vintage trunks.

Fevers VintageStacks of vintage Levis jeans were piled high on wooden tables. Racks of band tees, leather jackets and button downs beckoned to be looked through.

Andrew explains in terms of curation, "We definitely try to do all of it. But it's harder to find 60s, 70s nowadays, so 80s, 90s is kind of the focal [point]."

Fevers VintageHe adds, "We grew up listening to grunge music and 80s punk. But 70s and 60s stuff is incredibly interesting and way harder to find, so we're never going to shy away from that kind of thing."

This retro, peace-and-love meets grungey style is evident in the store's interior and selection of menswear and womenswear.

Fevers VintageBy speaking to Timothy and Andrew, it became apparent that Fevers Vintage is a family and community-oriented operation through and through.

Several pieces of artwork hung on the walls were painted by Andrew.

Fevers VintageThe minature model of the store's facade that sits on a shelf in the shop was created by the twins' father and the earrings sold by the register are made by the twins' mother.

Fevers Vintage Dundas West location"We strive to have a communal aspect to our business. At the [Roncesvalles] shop, I have a lot of regulars who have just become friends of mine. We keep that very sacred," says Andrew.

Fevers VintageThe brothers have committed to keeping prices low to maintain the accessibility of their merchandise. Their philosophy is simple: "I would rather have the hanger than the shirt."

Fevers Vintage Another way they engage with the community is through educating others on vintage clothing. "We try not to ostracize. If somebody comes in and they don't know what the shop is about we are more than willing to help them understand what vintage is," says Andrew.

"The more I can provide, the more I can flip, the friendlier I can be, the more connections I can make, the better," Andrew continues.

Fevers VintageWhile the shop's stock is nothing out of the ordinary, the sense of community fueled by the cofounders and their commitment to the accessibility of vintage is extra-special.

From now on if I'm ever traipsing down Dundas West, I will make sure to stop by Fevers Vintage to chat with Timothy and Andrew.
