Fylde’s new MP will be decided in the early hours of Friday morning.
Seven candidates are standing in the constituency with all major parties represented, one independent candidate and a candidate for the Alliance for Democracy and Freedom.
A hustings event we hosted last month focused on rail upgrades, integrity, raw sewage being pumped into the sea, farming and the Morecambe and Morgan energy project.

Mark Menzies is the incumbent MP for the area but confirmed he would stand down for the general election after being suspended from the Conservative Party and a ‘pattern of behaviour’ falling below the standards MPs are expected to set.
The result in Fylde is expected to be confirmed at 2.30am and this article will be updated when that happens.
