Girls Aloud may continue performing, hints Kimberley Walsh after tribute tour for Sarah Harding

Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh has teased their upcoming show as the band's huge sell-out tour draws to a close.

The four-piece - including our own Nadine Coyle -has just finished The Girls Aloud Show, which has toured UK and Ireland in memory of late bandmate Sarah Harding, who passed away in September 2021. Sarah's illness brought the girls back together, after they previously stated they wouldn't be part of any reunions, amid feuds and fallouts.

But after Sarah's tragic death at just 39 years old, the group promised to celebrate her life and get back together, and are now closer than ever, with fans hoping they will continue as a band. And after the tour has ended, Kimberley has thanked everyone involved for their part in making it such a special reunion, the Mirror reports.

Writing on Instagram, she said: "And that is that..." Reflecting on the last few shows of this wonderful tour. Genuinely one of the most special times in my life so far. Sharing the magic of being in Girls Aloud with my kids was a different level and appreciation. I was blown away by the audiences night after night and feel beyond proud of my girls for what we achieved together.

"So many people to thank for making this tour so special. The legend that is Beth Honan for creating this entire show and never wavering in her vision for what she was going to create."

She went on to tag her dancers, who she said "brought that vision to life in such a wonderful way," before adding: "What a team, what a few months we have had. Thank you and goodnight. Until it goes off again at @brightonprideofficial." And in further good news for hopeful Girls Aloud fans, a rare and intimate gig at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire will take place in West London on July 2.

Speaking about the one-off gig, Kimberley said: "We can't wait to perform our favourite songs in an intimate setting with fans at the Priority gig. It's going to be a really special evening and we can't wait to see some of you there!" The girls recently opened up in an interview about coming back together and becoming close friends again.

Cheryl said she felt like they were "sisters", despite previously falling out with Nadine Coyle. Addressing what's next for Girls Aloud, she told The Guardian: "Who knows what's next. We're like sisters now, so it never really ends. We've laughed, we've cried, we've cried laughing. It's been really fun."

Reflecting on touring without their fifth bandmate Sarah, Kimberley added: "We're not trying to pretend we're not doing this without her we feel that loss massively, on stage and in every song that we do. I really hope that we've done a good job of making her presence felt."
