Channel Islands Lottery survey launched

The Channel Islands Lottery has launched a survey to produce a better idea of how residents feel about lotteries and gambling activities.

The lottery is run by the governments of Guernsey and Jersey, and raises money for local charities and good causes.

Meanwhile, Guernsey's Public Health Department has commissioned a health impact assessment, which it said aimed to understand the needs of the bailiwick's population when it came to gambling.

This review was being carried out because the UK had identified gambling as a public health concern, bosses said.

Public health leaders said they would like to examine how common gambling was in Guernsey and how it affected people.

Senior lottery officer Jon Taylor: "This survey, external and subsequent stakeholder engagement will help us develop the CI Lottery games in a safe and responsible way as we enter our 50th year in 2025 and beyond."
