Former Arizona Cardinals star Adrian Wilson arrested on domestic violence charges

Former Arizona Cardinals star player, team executive and Ring of Honor member Adrian Wilson was arrested in June on domestic violence charges in Scottsdale.

Wilson, most recently vice president of player personnel with the Carolina Panthers, parted ways with the Panthers this past weekend, the Charlotte Observer reported. The reason for that could be related to his arrest, as the Panthers released a statement on Sunday confirming Wilson's departure and saying that "consistent with our organizational policy on employee matters, we will have no further comment."

According to Scottsdale Police arrest information, Wilson was arrested on three charges, including intentional assault causing physical injury, criminal property damage and disorderly conduct-disruptive behavior. The arrest was early in the morning of June 1, and ESPN reported that Wilson posted bail.

Scottsdale court records show Wilson is due in court on the morning of July 16, for a virtual case management conference.

Wilson, 44, played all 12 of his NFL seasons with the Cardinals from 2001-12. A third-round pick, the safety was a five-time Pro Bowler who had 27 career interceptions.

After his playing career, he went on to become a regional scout, then was promoted to director of pro scouting and vice president of pro scouting. He served as temporary co-interim general manager of the Cardinals with Quentin Harris in 2022, and joined the Panthers' front office in early 2023.

In 2015 he was added to the Cardinals Ring of Honor at State Farm Stadium.
