Rob Schumacher is a senior staff photographer at The Arizona Republic & USA TODAY Network. He is an award-winning photojournalist with deep roots in the American Southwest. His career has allowed him to capture and celebrate stories from his community to events on the world stage. Rob has covered the Phoenix Suns since 1983. He is a veteran of 11 Olympic Games, seven Super Bowls and has covered the last eight Masters golf tournaments. Recent stories covered include the 2023 World Series, presidential election, COVID-19, and the Heat Wave of 2023. In 2024, Rob won first place for feature photography in Best of the West. In addition to numerous awards, in 2020 he was the Arizona Photographer of the Year.
