Louise Cook passed away on June 17th, 2024 at the age of 90. She is survived by her two sons Erik and Kirk. She was born in Ellensburg, WA and spent her 20s and 30s as a school teacher for the US government in Germany, England, Norway, and Spain. In England she met her future husband Lehman and they were married in Oslo. The story is that Lehman was mainly looking for a free meal at a party hosted by Louise and her sister Lois, but it led to larger things. Upon returning to the states, Louise and her family made a home in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was an employee of the Scottsdale Public Library from the 1970s until her retirement in the 90s. She loved reading and was very proud of her contribution to the library’s expansion and development over the years. Louise and her late husband Lehman made many friends both in the valley and in Alpine, AZ where they built their dream cottage. In 2020, Louise moved to Longmont, CO to be closer to family. She made some amazing friends along the way. A private family service was held.
