As promised, BT opened Monday’s show by ripping the Yankees after they lost yet another series by being blanked in Sunday’s rubber game against the Red Sox.
BT called out Brian Cashman and the players, but the bulk of his criticism was geared towards the manager, who he says may need to be fired if this malaise continues.
“Everything is wrong with the Yankees right now. The Yankees are broken,” BT said. “Aaron Boone is not the right fit for the Yankees. Aaron Boone allows this stuff to go on with no consequences. Whether it’s center fielders kicking baseballs and loafing after it, Geyber Torres on autopilot for the last three years…what the Yankees really need, and I don’t know how they fix it, but they need a colossal kick in the ass, and their manager will never do it.
“I don’t defend him anymore. There is no signs of changing. Where is the sense of urgency for the New York Yankees?”
Boone is hearing plenty of criticism from fans as the team slides in the standings, and BT’s biggest concern is that Boone doesn’t have what it takes to wake the team up and get them back on track, as he believes Boone isn’t willing to call his players out and motivate them with constructive criticism.
“I think he’s now officially bad for this team…he has to get this going, otherwise he’s gonna get fired,” BT said.
“When the players don’t show you the respect of playing hard, then why would you kiss their ass? Why?”
