Sal isn't sweating 76ers at all, but BT says they will be big problem for Knicks next season

With Mikal Bridges being officially introduced by the Knicks on Tuesday morning, Sal expressed his excitement for the upcoming season, declaring that New York is one of the few teams that can legitimately win a title in 2025.

BT countered by bringing up the loss of Isaiah Hartenstein again, and the struggles the Knicks will have against teams like the 76ers and Joel Embiid unless they add a solid, durable center who can get nasty on the glass and help facilitate the offense like Hartenstein did.

“Who’s gonna check the Sixers? The Sixers have had an awesome offseason,” BT said. “I just hope when Embiid is healthy, that Mitchell Robinson is healthy. If Mitch is down when Embiid is up, then the Knicks will not beat the Sixers in a seven game series.”

Sal couldn’t disagree more, pointing to the Knicks dispatching Philly in the first round last season without Julius Randle and with a hobbled Robinson as a reason to not sweat the Sixers, regardless of who they added this summer.

“Paul George, how old is he, forty? Come on,” Sal said. “The Knicks are so much better and deeper than the SemiSixers…the way the Sixers built that team, hanging on for dear life with Embiid, who is always freaking hurt…I saw the Knicks handle them with basically just Jalen Brunson. The Knicks have gotten significantly better and healthier, and the Sixers added Paul George…there’s one basketball. You’re not gonna have Maxey, Embiid, Paul Geroge, and Martin there. They’re gonna have problems.”

BT says Sal is underestimating the Sixers, who have done more than just acquiring George.

“Caleb Martin is good, dude,” BT said. “Tyrese Maxey is the better than anybody the Knicks have outside of Jalen Brunson, and Embiid was gonna win MVP! And Paul George is really good…it’s not gonna be easy.”
