Sal: Jets biggest problem is having 'worst head coach in the NFL' in Robert Saleh

A caller opined to BT and Sal that Robert Saleh has been gravely disrespected as a head coach, and should get more credit for what he’s done with the Jets and their defense in his time roaming the sidelines at MetLife Stadium.

BT and Sal pushed back hard on the praise, with Sal going as far to say as there is no head coach in the league that is worse than Saleh.

“He’s not a good head coach. That’s the problem,” Sal said. “Great defensive mind, sure…head coach. No good. I’m sorry, he’s got to prove me wrong.

“Robert Saleh is the worst head coach in the NFL. Prove me wrong. You may have some rookies or first-timers who turn out to be worse…but who would you rather have as your head coach than Robert Saleh?”

With that, BT and Sal went through the name of every single head coach in the league, from Sean McDermott, Mike McDaniel, and John Harbaugh to Kevin Stefanski, Mike Tomlin, Dan Quinn, Brian Daboll, and the rest. After naming each one, BT thought there may be one or two names that he would take Saleh over, but Sal didn’t hear a single one.

“I don’t even think there is one or two,” Sal said.
