BT & Sal sound off on Jets for Haason Reddick situation not being resolved

As the Jets get set to begin mandatory minicamp, all eyes will be on whether Haason Reddick will show up as he awaits a new contract.

BT sounded off on the absence of Reddick, mainly how it is yet another offseason distraction that the Jets can never seem to escape.

“If this thing spirals out of control a little bit…I’m gonna lose my mind,” BT said. “There’s one mission for this summer: a smooth, clean operation, and here we are, day one of minicamp, first issue.

“Does anybody really think it’s gonna be smooth sailing for the Jets? Does anybody think that?”

Both BT and Sal can’t believe that the Jets weren’t ready to aggressively resolve Reddick’s contract dispute after trading for the dynamic pass rusher in the offseason, and the fact that he was the only player not present at media day, and hadn’t had contact with head coach Robert Saleh until this past weekend, just feels like the “same old Jets.”

“Why is it always something with them?” Sal said. “They just don’t need this. For once, can’t it just be smooth sailing? Why can’t the Jets just get off on the right freaking foot? Joe Douglas knew what he was getting into when he made this move! Lock him up!

“Robert Saleh not having some kind of communication with Reddick to this point is unacceptable…It shows me that Reddick doesn’t give a crap. Doesn’t care about the owner, the head coach, the quarterback, the city, the team. He cares about the bottom line. He wants to get paid. They knew that coming in, so just pay the guy!”

Once news broke from SNY's Connor Hughes that Reddick was in fact not coming to mandatory minicamp, despite Saleh expecting him to, Sal went off even further on his rant.

"Saleh, where is your head at??" Sal said. "It’s like the worst kept secret ever that he wasn’t gonna show up?"
