Haason Reddick has been a no show at Jets OTAs, while Robert Saleh told reporters that he hasn’t heard from his new pass rusher.
Boomer had a simple reaction to that revelation.
“Not good,” Boomer said.
Gio agrees, and says it’s not a good look for the new Jet, who is expected to be a major force up front for Gang Green.
“When you’re new on the team, they traded for you, you know what this season means to the New York Jets,” Gio said. “To ignore the head coach during this is a terrible way to start.”
For Boomer, it’s a concerning situation, but also a simple one. Reddick, who has one year left on his current deal, wants a new contract and long-term security.
“If he’s not here, it’s because he wants a new contract,” Boomer said. “That’s the only thing I can think of unless there’s a personal issue that we don’t know about.”
