After the Nets announced that Ben Simmons is done for the year and will continue to seek answers on the nerve impingement in his lower back, Keith ripped the oft-injured point guard to open Thursday night’s show.
“More BS, the final BS update of the 2023-24 season…what did you expect?” Keith said. “I told every Nets fan that could hear me, not to buy in. Don’t believe the BS…I don’t know why you would even kind of consider Ben Simmons as being an actual NBA player and someone you could count on on this team.
“This guy makes about $40 million a year to sit on the bench while people play basketball, and he shows off his closet. He said he was gonna show the Nets everything he’s got. He meant in his wardrobe.”
Simmons has appeared in just 57 games for Brooklyn since arriving via a trade with the Sixers that sent James Harden to Philadelphia, as the trade has been an all-in-all disaster for the Nets.
“The Brooklyn Nets got absolutely finessed,” Keith said. “Guys like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons, came here and collected, and barely played.”
