Jerry laments what could have been with Kyrie Irving, Nets if pandemic never happened

Kyrie Irving hit an insane buzzer beater earlier this week, and has been playing well in Dallas alongside Luka Doncic of late, averaging 25.4 points per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor.

It left Jerry wondering, what if the COVID-19 pandemic never happened? If Irving never sat out due to vaccination requirements in New York City, would the Nets superteam have worked out?

“This piece of garbage. Did you see the game winner that Kyrie hit? A left-hander across the foul line, he puts it in,” Jerry said. “It makes you so nauseous to think you had this guy, you had Durant, and this lowlife that’s out in LA now…to see them play this way, my God.”

Boomer noted that Irving had other off-the-court issues, like promoting an anti-Semitic video that led to a suspension, but Jerry still couldn’t help but think about what could have been.

“I watch him with Dallas, we’ve seen him before…but when he got here, I still do wonder, if it was just about basketball, are him and Durant still here?” Jerry said. “I think they are.”
