Gio sees Nets cutting ties with Sean Marks after this season: 'This is insanity'

Sean Marks spoke to reporters about changing head coaches in Brooklyn on Tuesday, and Gio believes that it should be one of the final times Marks speaks as Nets GM.

“I think it ends at the end of this season. I really do believe that,” Gio said. “Unless Kevin Ollie comes in and inspires this team to go on some really positive run, I think Sean Marks is gone at the end of this season.

“This has got to stop. This is insanity….this guy we praised for building the Nets up into a place where the highest level of NBA star wanted to win a championship at because of the stability of the organization, to where they are now, in complete rubble, it has to be over. You can’t give him another chance to do this.”

Jerry isn’t ready to say that Marks has to be gone at the end of this disappointing season, but he does want to hear the GM take more public accountability for what has become of the Nets since the superteam era imploded.

“I’m not even sitting here advocating for him to be fired, but you sit here and talk about this mess,” Jerry said. “You created it!

“The whole thing is a mess. They really should be better than this.”
