The Atlantic Council’s Warsaw office is delighted to announce “Warsaw Week 2024: A transatlantic agenda for an era of conflict and confrontation,” which will place from June 24 to June 28 in Warsaw, Poland. Warsaw Week is the Europe Center’s annual flagship conference in Warsaw that aims to highlight the importance of relations between the United States and Europe, with an emphasis on the central European perspective.
In a decisive year marked by significant elections on both sides of the Atlantic, and ahead of Poland’s presidency of the Council of the European Union in January 2025, this year’s Warsaw Week will provide a platform to map out a constructive agenda for the transatlantic partnership weeks after the EU elections in early June. This week-long programming will examine the key topics in the transatlantic relationship including ongoing support for Ukraine, European security, European enlargement, and the Weimar Triangle.
The conference will feature high-level programming with distinguished US and European experts in Warsaw aiming to jointly strategize on how the US and Poland can work together to accomplish shared priorities in response to mutual challenges.

With the United States torn between Europe and a pivot to the east, strengthening Europe’s production capacity is a critical goal. In an era of growing geopolitical turbulence, how can Poland and Central Europe step up to boost European readiness while continuing to prioritize arming Ukraine and maintain regional capabilities?

As Europe bands together to fend off the rise of authoritarianism and growing insecurity on Europe’s eastern front, Central and Eastern European countries such as Poland have voiced their support for greater EU integration to improve regional security and stability. While the EU has stated that it views enlargement to the Western Balkans as a strategic priority, limited progress has been made in their accession. How can partners such as Poland and its Central European neighbors build on their mutual experience facilitate the European integration of the Western Balkans?
