The Atlantic Council’s Europe Center is pleased to host a virtual conversation on “Debriefing the UK elections.” This conversation will take place virtually on Monday, July 8 from 9:00 to 10:00 am ET.

On July 4, Britons will head to the polls to elect a new parliament, which could result in a change of government after fourteen years of Conservative Party rule. While the election has primarily focused on domestic issues, including the economy, cost of living and the National Health Service crisis, the result of these elections could have a significant impact on the UK’s foreign policy and its relationship with Europe and the United States during a critical time for transatlantic relations.

What do the results of the United Kingdom’s general election mean for the future of UK foreign policy, security and defense, and economic and trade policies? The Europe Center hosts an expert panel debriefing the UK elections and what they could mean for the UK’s politics, policymaking as well as role in the world.

This event is part of the Europe Center’s Transatlantic Horizons Series, which seeks to outline a productive relationship for the United States and Europe for 2025 and beyond.

This event takes place as part of the Transatlantic Security Initiative’s 2024 NATO Washington Summit Campaign.

This conversation will take place virtually on ACTV, YouTube, X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn. To attend virtually, please register above.
