The Atlantic Council’s Europe Center hosts a virtual public event on “Bolstering transatlantic security and solidarity,” live from Houston, Texas, on Friday, July 12 at 10:45 a.m. ET / 9:45 a.m. CT.

After a period filled with hope for relative security in Europe and stable relations with Russia, the transatlantic community has been challenged by the outbreak of conventional war on the continent for the first time since World War II. In the face of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine and compounded by global geopolitical turbulence in the Middle East and Indo-Pacific, countries across Europe have undergone a paradigm shift in how they view defense and security within the transatlantic partnership. From Germany’s Zeitenwende to Central Europe’s prompt, steadfast, and increasingly integral support for Ukraine, allies across Europe have taken key steps towards both investing in their own defense and securing Europe’s eastern flank. However, as Russia’s war drags on, what more is needed to truly accomplish these goals?

Following the consequential Washington NATO Summit taking place July 9-11 that will determine the transatlantic community’s next steps for issues from galvanizing defense industry to bolstering defense and deterrence the Europe Center hosts an expert panel to discuss the outcomes of the NATO Summit and next steps for ensuring regional security. This event will be followed by an #ACFrontPage event with H.E. Petr Pavel, President of the Czech Republic, and will be take place in partnership with Jagello 2000.

This conversation will take place virtually on ACTV, YouTube, X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook, and LinkedIn. To attend virtually, please register above.
