I purchased this as my shower drain juts upward, and removing hair that goes down and gets stuck is not easily accessible. I purchased the grey colored catcher, as it was the cheapest at the time, but appreciate how other colors are offered. I was skeptical on the effectiveness when purchasing (so it just sits over the drain, and that's it?). Well yes, that's exactly what it does and it works. The top of metal is weighted enough so the catcher doesn't move, water is able to flow as normal and drain, and hair is caught on the outside. Cleaning the hair just consists of picking up the catcher and wiping them off. I can see how there may be times when I might have to really pick at certain hairs if they get tangled in the catcher's hole, but that's fine.
Overall, after just a few times of use, I absolutely love it and recommend to anyone needing a product such as this.

This drain hair catcher does work. I have long, wavy hair, and already had been using a lint filter over my pop-up drain (see picture, upper left). However, the lint filters stretch and don't stay on well. So I tried this product. The metal top gives enough weight to keep it secure, it does not move around in the shower. The water does slow down a bit, but then drains fine. I experimented with my old lint filter underneath and I did not see any hairs getting past the drain hair catcher. It fit over my pop-up drain shown in the picture. I now use the drain hair catcher alone without the old lint filter underneath. I rinse, dry, and store it upside down when done. Comment to manufacturer: I'd rather see a lighter color so my dark hair can be seen easier. I recommend this product.
