Top critical review
1.0 out of 5 starsPretty Underwhelmed

Update one week after writing initial review: I changed my rating from two stars to one star. The bluetooth connection is completely unreliable, it disconnects randomly in the middle of playback and the unit turns itself off. I have to power it back on and reconnect at least three times a day, on top of reconnecting when it powers off after a few minutes of standby
This whole unit is trash warmed over, you've been warned

All I'm willing to say about this is I'm just short of regretting buying this. For over a grand I was expecting much more than what this product delivered. It's not much louder than a small bluetooth speaker I was using before. The remote could not be less functional, other than the power button it's a brick. "Surround sound" is good marketing. The subwoofer, I could sleep with my head right next to it on full blast and I wouldn't wake up
Other than the disappointing sound the overall product has little things that just add up to be annoying. Like going on standby mode after what seems to be three minutes when connected via bluetooth, so unless you're playing something all day you'll be perpetually manually turning the unit back on and reconnecting all day. Also, no AUX connection is just plain dumb. No excuse for that. Lastly the HDMI ARC connection to my TLC Roku tv was a nightmare, I just gave up and went with an optical connection
I'll be fair and mention one good thing: the wireless setup is convenient. It's quick and easy to pull out the speakers and have them be your Left/Right channels sitting behind and/or next to you. Going wireless probably sacrifices sound quality, but if you don't want wires running everywhere this is your ticket
To sum up: this is my first big audio purchase and I could not be more disappointed. If you have a thousand bucks to spare, try Sony or something. Or keep your expectations reasonable. Just my advice. I'll probably be replacing this within the next year, for now I'll use it because I needed a sound system
