Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
I live in NY so of course we had cloud cover for the solar eclipse! We did get a chance to wear these and try them out prior to the start of the eclipse though. They blocked out all of the UV light so we were able to look directly at the sun prior to the start of the eclipse... and then the clouds rolled in so we literally could see nothing but clouds, even with the naked eye so these were not needed at all. We love NY though... :-/

The price for a 12 pack of glasses was great! I'll be hanging on to ours as souvenirs for now and in hopes of maybe catching the next solar eclipse in the Southern US next time!

The next solar eclipse is coming - and now the whole family is ready for it. We don't live on the direct path and will only see about 80% of the eclipse, but I'm still very excited to be able to see it.

I like that these glasses come in a pack of 12 - more than enough for the whole family so you don't have to share. They are made of cardboard, one size fits all. They are pretty light-weight. I did not have any problems wearing them over my sunglasses. The important thing is that they stay in place and don't slide down too easily and that they are safe to use during the solar eclipse.

These glasses have the ISO logo (the International Organization for Standardization). On the inside of the glasses it states that they meet "the transmittance requirements of ISO." Also, the polymer lenses were made in the United States (even though final production and assembly was in China). Furthermore, the lenses are designed to filter out UV and IR rays.

I first tried the lenses inside my house - you can't see anything (which is what they are supposed to do!). Looking directly into a bright light, you can barely see the bulb. So yes, they really do seem to filter out 99.9999% of visible light. When outside, I felt safe looking directly at the sun (do this for a short period only because solar eclipse glasses are designed for just that - a solar eclipse. They are not designed to filter the full brightness of the sun - so be careful not to stare at the full sun for too long).

Even though we will only experience a limited solar eclipse on April 8, we will be able to safely watch it wearing these glasses. They are reasonably priced, especially since you receive so many, and we will be able to use them again at the next solar eclipse as they don't expire for 10 years.

These glasses worked as needed, in the hours leading up to the eclipse we were testing them on the sun and it was cool to just use even without the eclipse happening. No complaints about the glasses!

Got these to share with co-workers for a Solar Eclipse watch party at work. These worked so well!! I kept reading about so many fakes being out there. I read up on how to properly test these out before the big day. With these, it can be a super bright sunny day, and you see NOTHING until you look up at that bright ball called the sun. Be sure to have them firmly in place, and not to remove then until AFTER you have looked away. Numerous of my coworkers had meant to get glasses, and not been able to find these, so they were really happy when I had a 12 pack to share around. So much better then just seeing the shadows with the home made viewers. These made it so much more special.

We used these at the most recent eclipse. They fit well and do their job ! We could easily see the eclipse. The product came in a nice box, and best of all, the glasses were already folded and ready to wear. All I had to do was hand them out to everyone ! They are now a fun keepsake of a neat memory ! Thank you.

These glasses DO have the ISO logo and as long as nobody would print that on a piece of cardboard without permission, you can be sure that you will take no retinal damage when observing the sun through these for short periods of time. They worked for the eclipse, but of course only transmit 0.001% of visible light, so you cannot see anything except the sun. Try not to fall in a hole.
